You can change my life.....with just one simple click.
I figured out the chords for this and I put up an interpretation on Youtube.. If you like what I did, let me know and I can try to figure out what I played and write a tab.
this band, this music, this cat.....in the 5 years i've known of them, they have become perhaps my all-time favorite....and i am in my mid-forties so the tea party knocked off quite a few heavies to get to my top spot. but, DAMN. interzone mantras...seven circles....drawing down the moon....they're so perfectly heavy and unorthodox. bra-vo, hefe martin. braVO.
@M1xBlender Among other things...his heavy years were during the Transmission era, I have an interview with him actually talking about it during the Triptych sessions and he says "You name a drug, I was on it"...I know for certain he was a MAJOR fan of Ecstasy, I saw him on it a few times at shows, and I know he drank like a fish at the time too, he'd polish off 11 or 12 beers during a 2 hour set...I don't doubt the guy did his share of heroin too...
For their last album, their record company wanted them to move away from their trademark sound and toward a more mainstream sound. They did and it tanked. Jeff moved on to a solo album and then formed a new band called The Armada.
@haus4118 I've seen these guys a whole crapload of times, I live/grew up just out of Ottawa where they're from so I actually had the pleasure of seeing them during the Splendor Solis tour...they never failed to blow me away that 3 guys could pull off that sound. When they opened for Page/Plant they actually got a standing ovation which is pretty major praise.
there was a while that the cult was huge i think, but even if they werent some of their members (matt sorum eg) are famous.that doesnt happen with Tea Party:(
It's sad that most people don't understand the absolutely complexity and diversity of both Jeff Martin and the Tea Party. A peace of me died when they broke up.
Burrows is an afternoon d.j. on 95.1 the rock Canadian station in Windsor He plays some Tea Party like every other day. Which is awesome for us Americans!
jeff martin has a new band The Armada and stuart chatwood has been composing music for the prince of persia series and the drummer has a new band as well
Last time I tried to figure it out I used the open chords he plays at the start to get an idea. I wrote it down somwhere but will have to dig to find it....
first chord on 9th fret A sting and 12 fret middle E string. will tab the rest and post later. this version is a little lower - theres another version on youtube if you search tea party live (from the album release party) which actually shows jeff playing.
I don't know why these guys aren't more popular. They're amazing.

As for a tab, it's impossible to post the entire, proper tab here. But this is the main riff, without the intro (standard tuning):
e
B
G---------------8(8 times total)
D-5558888--6(8 times total)
A-5558888--6(8 times total)
E-3336666---
Repeat.

If you need to tune your guitar, search "gieson tuner" in a search engine.
