I used to play this game all the time as a young lad, ok so things that will help you. The turtle is Koopatrooper and he is the best at handling, however is slowest top speed. Use Koopa or toad and collect coins as they increase engine top speed. Also master drifting corners with the L and R buttons. Feather jump can be used to take short cuts on some tracks and once again keep collecting coins. Now when you complete all cups gold in 100cc you unlock 150cc class.

@TacoBurger99 Not enough, if you use Koopatroopa and hold R or L buttons so you drift then release at right time, you can go that fast you can overlap other players. Koopa and Toad have the best handling but are the slowest. Against the CPU they are the best to use but not 2 player mode. Reason being DK and Bowser have best top speed as they have real world record lap times. Master DK or Bowser and you will destroy anyone
