  • There is no such thing as "real" hip hop. Stop with that nonsense.

This is real to you because you want to hear concious and intelligent rap.

Lil Wayne is real to some one who wants to stack cash and party all the time.

Just because you think one thing is real doesn't give you the authority to call another thing fake. Real is what speaks to you, anything can be real.

  • @MCEYun yeah, Lil Wayne is real. Real wack.

  • @ttolenti

    I actually agree with you.

  • @MCEYun when people mention real, they mean music that isnt what a label tells you 2 do.

  • @MCEYun

"Lil Wayne is real to some one who wants to stack cash and party all the time"

Basically, they're living in ignorance in comparison to conscious music.

    So much better.

  • real hip-hop heads know... The only reason why you shouldnt like lil wayne is because he sends the wrong message to the community. Not because you think blackstars better.

  • @BigBenLoKy502 I agree with the first part....but I would definitely say blackstar is better. Maybe they don't rap faster, but they are more creative and put more into their music.

  • that snare hits soooo hard

  • This feeds my soul and my imagination. So inspiring.

  • Breathtaking...<3

  • STOP even thinkin bout that, lets hear REAL hiphop!

  • beautiful lyricism

  • Listened to Chingy's new song and hand to come find something of quality, aaahhh.. that feels better.

  • 1+2=3

    2+3=5

    3+5=8

    I can math?

  • @zanlean idiot

  • yay for seeing one blackstar get the colbert bump!

  • @k4rlt33 they both been on

  • like the creator love all creatures, who acknowledge truth and peace seekers.

  • So cool

  • Blacker than my secrets and my lies, blacker than my feelings that i try to pass by, blacker than my thoughts gone awry, blacker than things that we gonna see when we die

  • i dont know what the world of music has come to, but lil wayne sings gay-ass-fuck bubbble gum pop music with all his faggot poser gang members (so he calls them) this shit is up bomb;real hip hop.

  • Make without imagine happen but maybe I'm just a dreamer/I love rockin' tracks like John Coltrane love Naema/like the student love the teacher/like the Prophet love Khadijah

    ^THIS. I love it.

  • True indeed.

  • Afrocentricity

    Period

  • i respect lil waynes achievements as a rapper. i dont respect his image or persona.

and in a way, im glad these guys haven't achieved the level of success that lil wayne has, cuz for that to happen, it wouldn't be real hip hop, it'd just be that garbage they market to teenage girls

  • @guitaring4fun i agree with you except i acknowledge lil waynes achievements i feel there is nothing to respect

  • @AceMasta93 he was a millionaire by the time he was 17 and had his first major debut album at 15. he's pretty remarkable.

  • @guitaring4fun really that is pretty impressive

  • @AceMasta93 agreed. i just dont support the image he promotes now and the way he ruins real rap and hip hop. its lost to all those teenage prep girls who just shake they're asses to it and it literally spreads retardation thru out our society

  • @guitaring4fun so true man

  • Untouchable

  • Big>Pac>Mos def>Nas>kweli>Em

  • This is such an epic son.

Imagine that, two MC's complementing each other and talking about relevant issues in a way that is still good to listen to

and... it fits in the movie O perfectly

  • @slipknot98763 I actually got to this song by seeing that movie! I literally just finished it on HBO! Right after I heard Mos's voice I knew who it was and Kwelis too! But when I looked up the sound track it wasn't listed. I had to watch the credits to spot this amazing song!

  • Easily the best album ever

  • Real Hip Hop never dies, just its creators.

  • Soulja boy ,lil wayne, gucci man,t pain disliked this

  • jesus bumps to this

  • played it 3 times in a row, heard it for the first time today. damnet mos and kweli always come too real

  • incredibly fat production. simple but soul-penetrating bass line.

  • haven't heard this song for years and i still know the lyrics inside out

  • Infinite music. Thank You Mos & Talib!

  • i love this music and i have always been thru to this music

but you guys dont hate on soulja boy that much; he probably just had to make that music becaus of some moneyhungry company he probably wasn't strong minded enough to say no; he will realise this one day ;; i guess

  • One of the best and underrated Hip Hop albums.

Mos Def and Talib are legends!

  • like if you prefer this on the radio !

  • "UFO Disclosure A Global Deception Conspiracy " ON

YOUTUBE is a revelation of with held knowledge from the public of life

beyond Earth. The video compilation contains statements from astronauts,

American presidents, military personnel, politicians plus credible news

footage regarding awareness of life beyond Earth along with it's

current and ongoing presence which is being hidden from the masses + more.

  • "the one" "the two" "third eye" five side" "8th light"

    1,2,3,5,8

    its fibonacci numbers

    mos def is a genius

  • @HimynameisRYAN21

and listening to this song, i just learned somethig new. Didnt know what Fibonacci numbers were till you pointed it out. I googled it and damn i feel enriched because rap song taught me Fibonacci numbers and not a math class.

  • @HimynameisRYAN21 I love mos def, but a reference isn't genius. Tool's song Lateralus was built around the fibonacci sequence, from the time signature changes to the sequencing of the lyrics. That's a bit more genius, or at least creative, in my opinion

  • @bakerach Yeah but maynard james keenan can't rap

  • @HimynameisRYAN21 i dont understand..?

  • @HimynameisRYAN21 i dont get it

  • @ThEsHizNit756 its a pattern in nature called "fibonacci's sequece."

    its made by adding the last two numbers together. so 0&1 is 1. 1&1 is 2. 1&2 is 3. 2&3 is5. 3& 5 is 8. so on.

  • @HimynameisRYAN21 yes!! i thought i was the only who noticed that!

  • so fucking funky and smooth

  • 3rd Eye Vision + 5 Side Dimension = 8th Light

  • mos def owned talib

  • @itzzsk Hmmm I'm not so sure. They both kill it on this song.

  • gee I wonder if the top comment is about Lil Wayne/Drake/SOulja BOy/etc.

    *scrolls down*

    well what do you know

  • I seriously can't believe that anyone could dislike this track.

  • 'LIKE THE PROHPET LOVED KHADIJA'

  • Blacker than my granddaddy armchair

He really never got no time to chill there

    Cause his life was warfare

    (So true)

  • "fresher than an infant"

  • So many awesome references in this song haha and badass rhymes

  • The pinnacle of hip hop

  • they used the fibonacci sequence lol

  • @uchihaboy79 now that was genius....

  • this song makes me wish i was black haha. if no one else does anything i m gonna have to drop a yellowstar mixtape pretty soon :D

  • @69ForFun69 lmao haha

  • @ jtbone420 Lmao

  • Mos's verses are fucking ridiculous here. I hate that motherfucker because of it.

And before anyone trolls me I mean that in the best possible way.

  • real hip hop never dies

  • what is the black star?

  • @250Bikes WE ARE THE BLACK STAR

  • @250Bikes Planet that they fear...

  • @visionimagify Is it the cat with the black shades, the black car?

  • @visionimagify they, meaning who?

  • From before the current times, where the idea of an educated rapper is a misnomer.

  • MAN this is a banger!!!!!!

  • Peace to the spray can; keeping moving addidas show wearing. The amp and the spoken word. The books for the knowledge and God for the inspiration. Peace to the heaven sent culutre... Peace to me. Peace 2 U.

  • can anybody explain the meaning of: "third eye vision, five side dimension, the 8th light, its gonna shine bright tonight" ??

  • @btclements

It's a reference to the Fibonacci Sequence, which is a mathematical sequence of numbers where you add the previous number in the sequence to produce the next.

    i.e. 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, ...

If you want more information check out the article "Fibonacci Numbers" on wikipedia.

It's a really cool string of numbers that has some really interesting properties. Love Black Star for this kind of stuff.

  • @Petitcreiu

Thanks a bunch man. Ha ha that was on my mind for a while. I wonder if there are specific meanings to '5 side dimension' and '8th light.' I'm guessing 'third eye vision' is referring to ones third eye or imagination.

  • BLACK!

  • what is it with people and not posting the entire song? why the hell would you do that? really....

  • People forgot how to rap...

  • B.L.A.C.K

  • True Hip-Hop.

7-9-5 is not how a haiku works.

Might make a sweet guitar chord, though.

  • @Copidat I believe a new type of top comment is in the making.

  • @jmarrvin The 7-5-9 haiku?

  • @Copidat No, just haiku in general.

  • @jmarrvin you do know a haiku is 5-7-5 right?

  • @JRY17 Yeah, figured that out recently

  • @leeperryismerry Fuk why hi-hop has change so bad!!!! This day it really suck

  • @leeperryismerry yeah its jus too bad the people been brainwashed into lil waynes music i hate to say it but honestly hes winning:(
