Lala lala laaa *frolicking through a fiel* AHHHHH!! *bigfoot jumps out of grass and* DON'T KILL ME! *bigfoot is actually a marine sniper and begins pounding your face in*
@fscrook50 That's true. Most of the recoil is absorbed in the spring action. Same as the shotguns with the semi-auto vs the pump action. Pumps will kick a little harder than the semi auto's. Same thing goes for weight. Heavier weapons recoil less than lighter ones. Simple physics. Somthing to think about fellas.
@MrMuscleBilly Simple physics is that, due to conservation of linear momentum, force transfer is the same regardless of the weight of the object it is being transferred through. Consider desk top pendulum balls - regardless of the weight of the middle ones, energy transfer is the same.
@MrJonagikster think of it this way, the gun moves slower but has the same kinetic energy. When you stop it the same amount of energy is dumped in your shoulder.
@MrJonagikster But if you have a decent stance, you can control the extra mass. It's velocity you can't control as easily.
This was just my experience, but a Glock 26 felt a lot "crispier", even thought the energy was lower than a 1911. The 1911 had more recoil but the lower velocity made it easier to handle.
When applying that to a rifle/shotgun with a stock, where you can control the mass with 3 points of contact, the lower velocity helps a lot.
@bf2lover42 Yes I agree. However, it's not velocity you can control more easily it's the dumping of energy over more time (the lower instantaneous force).
So that's how serious guys looks like when their not shooting a video.

@MrJonagikster Energy is the same. Therefore, more mass = less velocity. That means less felt recoil.

@bf2lover42 exactly, same amount of energy dumped into your shoulder.

Looks like the only tactical advantage I can claim against Travis is no fear of spiders! Haha! This new DVD series looks great.
