Depends on why kind of money you want to spend. If money is not an issue and you want to be near campus then stay downtown. Several 3* hotels there. Or if you want to save some money but be near plenty of places to eat and shop then stay out west of of town in the Turkey Creek area. Or you could stay out in Alcoa by the airport. I like staying near the airport for football games because the traffic driving in is the best from that area. But for basketball traffic shouldn't be an issue.
