I went to a christian camp in the summer for the first time, it really opened my eye's and strengthed my relationship with God. @HappyRoadCone "Cult" is a technical, sociological term. It could not properly apply to JC because "cult" by definition applies to small groups separate from the mainstream. They are generally centered around a charismatic leader. JC has no specific leader, are not outside the mainstream, and are not a small group. If they teach/believe non-traditional theology, then I am unaware of that, but as I've already demonstrated, that wouldn't be enough to characterize them as a cult.
@TheCommissioned Thank you for that well written reply. I guess I should've addressed my speculation towards Bethel Church, though, because the blogs I read were actually mentioning Bethel. I wish I could find them again, but basically they said "cultish" things were being taught at their supernatural school of ministry, such as seeing visions, barking like a dog (I assume that was pertaining to speaking in tongues) and other odd "things." I don't know. I like JC a lot, though.
Great comment. I'm really tired of this foolish misuse of the word "cult" by certain writers and radio personalities who want to apply it to anyone who doesn't believe exactly what they believe, especially when it comes to issues of theology that DON'T have to do with the basics of Christianity (John 3:16).

I've heard nothing about them that would be suspect or heresy about what they believe or how they are living. God is using this band. The enemy doesn't like it. There will be attempts to discredit and hinder the work of God through them. Let's not fall into the trap of focusing on a band or people, but keep our eyes on the One above, the Risen One!

There are unchristian Christians that call anything they don't like a cult. My advise to you is not to read what people say about other people, learn about anything you want to know about DIRECTLY by listening to them and judging. Gossip is something practiced even by people who call themselves Christian, and you DON'T want to get caught up in it.

Awesome song! Just not too long ago I thought about what God took me out of. I was raised by parents who have anger and short tempers. Even my brother does. Every one of them cuss like heck and have high blood pressure. I am the only one in my family who does not cuss (that includes my 8 year old cousins who are all ready cussing) have a short temper, and I have perfect blood pressure. Family history? Forget that! @scottwolfe92 If John the Baptist was Jesus relative (Lk 1v36) & if they met each other then how come John needed a dove to identify Jesus (John 1v33) & if they did not meet each other then it's astounding: John sat in desert Lk1v80 rather than travel 70miles to meet his relative who his mother surely told him was Lord Jesus of God (Lk 1v42)?Imagine them not even trying to meet M,J & Jesus at the Passover in Jerusalem each year Lk 2v41, especially if Zech was Temple priest Lk 1v8.
@zytigon To be honest, I don't know everything there is to know I just know that was part of God's plan for his Son. About the Dove thing, I guess it could of been a symbol of purity or acceptance I don't know. Sometimes the plan of God is confusing in our own eyes and what I would recommend though I am not forcing you too is to ask God for guidance and I bet he could help you out.

@zytigon I read a few writings by modern Jewish archaeologists and rabbis. If king David and Salomon existed they were no more as local chieftains. For that famous king David, all they have is name on a style. From salomons riches, nothing was ever found. For Abraham Jacob etc. there is not a single piece of evidence. @ndzoko Yes i noted the sarcasm. I think people would be better to view the Bible writings as the guesses of primitive, superstitious people. A God who took everyone to heaven would be worthy of praise but a one who damns most would be a monster.--Then you can construct your own concept God, a hypothetical perfect God who is the truely loving and good. @ndzoko John 3:17 says he didn't come to condemn the world but that he may save the world. He has grace on those who sin in ignorance but once they come to the knowledge of Christ then they will be judged if they refuse to listen to his warning. If we come to him and seek after him he can help us become better people and we can earn a seat in heaven through his acceptance.
@scottwolfe92 If the Bible is errant then it just makes it all the more likely that a loving, good God will take everyone to heaven.. It is only the ideas of the priests who wrote the Bible which makes it appear that God would condemn anyone. Maybe John 3v17 is actually true in all senses. Jesus just doesn't condemn anyone. If Jesus could forgive people who knew not what they did Luke 23v34 then why not just forgive the whole world and save everyone? If they knew the truth they'd believe

We have to submit ourselves to him and carry our cross and follow him and deny ourselves. That's what he told us. He never changes, not ever. @ndzoko I don't know much about the INUIT but I know that without Christ it's impossible to get to heaven. He said he is the Way, the Truth, and Life and no one comes to the father "except" through Christ Jesus the Son. Without accepting Jesus it's impossible. It's not by works but by faith first. We have to have faith and works once we do accept him. But it's your choice I'm not forcing you to believe it's totally up to you but I'm just trying to help you out. @ndzoko The reason for pain in this world goes all the way back to Adam and Eve. Because of their sin (eating the apple) we are born into sin. It is because of one man that we are in a sinful state. But it is by one man Jesus Christ that redemption came in to save us from our sinful selves. It is because Adam sinned that we are destined to die (Hell) It is because of Christ we are destined to live by accepting him (Heaven). The reason for these catastrophes are not easily explained.

@ndzoko Yes, unfortunately people die everyday for reasons we cannot understand. We try to understand the reasoning but not everything is logical. Understanding Christ isn't logical but goes beyond logic and farther than the intellect of the mind. It is through faith that we might be able to understand why he allows it. The devil-the snake- decieved him and in order to pull us out of that sinful state and because he was so sad about what Adam did he decided to let his Son Jesus Christ pay the consequences for Adams sin and save us. Adam paid the consequences and sometimes we are punished for our mistakes but he still looks beyond our outward appearance into the heart. He wants our hearts for him alone. Awesome song! Just not too long ago I thought about what God took me out of. I was raised by parents who have anger and short tempers. Even my brother does. Every one of them cuss like heck and have high blood pressure. I am the only one in my family who does not cuss (that includes my 8 year old cousins who are all ready cussing) have a short temper, and I have perfect blood pressure. Family history? Forget that! My God is bigger than any health problems, genes, or generational curses!!!!!!

About the Dove thing, I guess it could of been a symbol of purity or acceptance I don't know. See John 14v10-14 and Ecclesiastes 3v19 Man's fate is like that of the animals, all have the same spirit / breath. Have you read Daniel Dennetts, 'Darwins dangerous idea'? For that famous king David, all they have is name on a style. From salomons riches, nothing was ever found. For Abraham Jacob etc. there is not a single piece of evidence. A God who took everyone to heaven would be worthy of praise but a one who damns most would be a monster.--Then you can construct your own concept God, a hypothetical perfect God who is the truely loving and good. He has grace on those who sin in ignorance but once they come to the knowledge of Christ then they will be judged if they refuse to listen to his warning. If we come to him and seek after him he can help us become better people and we can earn a seat in heaven through his acceptance.

It is only the ideas of the priests who wrote the Bible which makes it appear that God would condemn anyone. Maybe John 3v17 is actually true in all senses. Jesus just doesn't condemn anyone. If Jesus could forgive people who knew not what they did Luke 23v34 then why not just forgive the whole world and save everyone? If they knew the truth they'd believe

@ndzoko I don't know much about the INUIT but I know that without Christ it's impossible to get to heaven. He said he is the Way, the Truth, and Life and no one comes to the father "except" through Christ Jesus the Son. Without accepting Jesus it's impossible. It's not by works but by faith first. We have to have faith and works once we do accept him. But it's your choice I'm not forcing you to believe it's totally up to you but I'm just trying to help you out. Why is it that you don't believe?

@ndzoko The reason for pain in this world goes all the way back to Adam and Eve. Because of their sin (eating the apple) we are born into sin. It is because of one man that we are in a sinful state. But it is by one man Jesus Christ that redemption came in to save us from our sinful selves. It is because Adam sinned that we are destined to die (Hell) It is because of Christ we are destined to live by accepting him (Heaven). The reason for these catastrophes are not easily explained.

@ndzoko Yes, unfortunately people die everyday for reasons we cannot understand. We try to understand the reasoning but not everything is logical. Understanding Christ isn't logical but goes beyond logic and farther than the intellect of the mind. It is through faith that we might be able to understand why he allows it. Can we excersize our faith and let him lead us to the answers? It is extremely hard I know, but cast your cares on him because he cares for everyone! He doesn't want anyone

Adam paid the consequences and sometimes we are punished for our mistakes but he still looks beyond our outward appearance into the heart. He wants our hearts for him alone.
