hes packed on a wopping 9 pounds not 20, he was 228 coming into college and 237 going out. He even says that he loses 10 pounds for baseball and packs on the 10 when football comes around, If he wants to he could always drop his weight. He will run a high 4.4 40 or low 4.5 40 wich is great for his size. 40 times are dumb, Frank Gore ran a 4.66 at the combine, Knowshon Moreno ran a 4.62 at the combine, Cedric Benson ran a 4.58, Jamal Lewis ran a 4.53, Beanie Wells ran a 4.59 list goes on bro.

@trevor18hi - No, the Heisman voters just wanted to finally give one to someone from Alabama. Ingram was good and his running lead them to the national championship. I heard one commentator say that the Heisman was more of a team award. I call BS. It's the award for the "best player in college football." Not the "best player on the best team in college football." Had Stanford been selected to a BCS game and had a slightly better record, he might have won.

That's actually really simple. The Doak Walker award is not decided by the same people who decide the Heisman. Thus there can be conflicting results. Also, the Doak Walker award has academic requirements on top of athletic achievement. I'm not saying Ingram does poorly at school, I have no idea, but it's at least a possible reason why he didn't win it.

He's white. Guarantee he's drafted late and moved to either full back or tight end. Just saying. He is very much like Bush from Louisville a few years ago. I think his cuts are fine, they get the job done. Every time he approaches a defender they look wrong footed, because they don't know weather he's gonna run through them or around them. I hope he gets the chance to play running back in the NFL.

Very few running Backs of his weight class demonstrate speed, power, and quickness.

I see him running a high 4.59- 4.65 which is still fast for his size

umm not neccesarily if you get bigger by putting on muscle expecially on your legs you can move faster. I only weigh 130 and I bet a guy the same height as me 5'6 who has more muscle and weighs 180 would out run me. Its hard as hell for me to put on weight but trust me Toby will run a 4.52, and I still think the 40 and the combine is overrated, Look at Austin Collie, he ran a 4.6, Darren Mcfadden ran a 4.3 and my boy ray rice ran a 4.4 and look who's doing better. Gore ran a 4.66, Toby=da best

He won't be an every down back in the NFL but a third down back definitely...He is good but there are much better running backs. and the thing that helps Stanford to win is their discipline, not the talent...SORRY, but lets face it in the pac-10 there are much more talented teams (personnel-wise) tthere are just undisciplined... Prime expamle ASU. tons of talent 0 discipline...Oregon...look at the Boise state game incident. Discipline will beat any team.

Toby Gerhart is impressive, but he isn't Heisman worthy in my opinion. 78550waldo brings up a valid point...the blocking is amazing. His line makes him. Put any other back in the pac-10 behind their o-line and you will have the same result if not better. He is a glorified fullback. He has slow feet in his cuts, but what really helps him is his strength and ability to fall forward. I haven't watched him a lot this year but of the times i have seen him play he hasn't broken for large runs.

evrj75 you don't know what you're talking about. Yes he has a great offensive line but watch any highlight reel of him and you'll see that he breaks through tiny openings and turns them into big gains. Once he crosses the line of scrimmage it's all him. He consistently breaks tackles, almost always requiring multiple defenders, and consistently Stanford from the redzone into the endzone.

I think it's funny that you're going to knock him and the team for running the plays well.

Whatever man I see tons of white rbs at the hs and college levels. In the pros the best players play it's not discrimination. Most of the white players with the athleticism to be halfbacks are directed toward the QB, TE, and LB positions tho.

Luke Staley was a great white running back at BYU, he won the Walker award, he just had durability issues. There's not some conspiracy to keep white players from being RBs like there was to keep black players from being QBs.
