  • i wish my chem teacher was good at teaching...

  • thanks for doing this... this is great!!!!

  • Thanks man! :)

  • That green box was definitely too shocking

  • What do you mean by reach a new equilibrium?

  • Amazing explanation!!! thank u sal u r phenomenal !!!!!

    thumbs up for sal!!!

  • I watched this video to find out how to pronounce "Le Chatelier"

  • @Davidino230 hahahahahhaha me too

  • gayboy

  • hey .. amazing teaching! ! ... i dont think i am ever going to forget this and there is no need of any tutions !! Thanx !

  • yo good vid but culd u say watch equilibrium vid first b4 this coz I'm a totaly noob n I just figured out it help more if u watch the equilibrium video first..

  • Hey Sal, come visit ASIJ!

  • Thank You Sir!! Seriously I Couldn't Understand A Thing In The Class As I Was Hospitalised For A Few Days And Arrived In Between The Lecture!! You Just Saved My Ass!!!

  • I'm german but I'm lerning it faster than in school here, altough It's English!

My teacher will be happy if he sees that I'm writing "equilibrium" instead of "Gleichgewicht" :D

  • 12 person just failed chem

  • @vivapalestine93 and you just failed english

  • @pacslife20 well hhhhhhh happy to tell u that ENGLISH is not my mother language .... ,..

  • there is some noisy sound like wzzzzzzzzzz in the video i cant continue this video :@:@ :(

i was enjoying this but plz try to fix it

best chemistry in the world is here :D

  • this right here is basically the last 4 days of my hour nd half long chem classess.. all summarized nd explained so nicely

  • i watched 2 of ur 14 min videos and i understand better than 2 of my teachers 40 min class

  • I got an A on the test thanks to this. Thanks :)

  • @paranoidskit I got a 100% on the test.... all my chemistry... actually almost all my math and science tests... because I have no life and study all the time :'(

  • @intellegence63smart Thats very good tho

  • thank you mr teacher

  • I curse every french man existed when i am trying to find the prounciation of Le chatelier.

    Le SHIT TILL AIDS

  • you just saved me from failing <3

  • Great. Straight to the point, no waffle. More chemistry like this could shorten courses. Bad for lecturers' pay??

  • 3:09 just like my girlfriend will tonight

  • Thank you Sal, thank you.

  • 3:27 Le ****

  • Lawls, produces E, if you know what I'm talking about ;)

  • how did everyone find out his name was Salman Khan?

  • Are you related to Einstein ? You're honestly a genius and my hero .

  • this makes more sense and takes less time to understand than my chem book. thanks for the great video.

  • these kind of videos need more views

  • THIS HELPED ME So MUCH THANK YOU !!! :) :) :)

  • Thank goodness... thx alot! u are so much better than my incompetent chemistry teacher...-________-

  • thanks, only good chem tutor on youtube

  • THANK YOU! SUDDENLY THINGS MAKE SENSE TO ME OMG

  • I understand pressure and concentration but not temperature... still so confused on temperature !!!!!!

  • @Chang094 Just think heat as another product or reactant to the system...

  • Yu got it

  • thankyou!!!!!!

  • I just watch these videos because I like hearing him talk.

  • @cosmicowll LOL

  • U ARE AWESOME KHAN, thanks

  • Thank you very much men you saved my life dude i owe you my future!

  • Thankful you are able to unwind the complex things and make us understand whatever is being taught in the class...

  • are we so lazy we can't thumbs up Sal for these videos? Almost 99,000 with 390 likes is approximately 0.39%. Sal is 100% all the way. thanks again, having pre class lectures

  • wow... why do they even pay my professor...

  • your videos are just magic

  • This is great. This is what America needs now. Good job!!!!

  • They should give a CD of this or a link to this video to every textbook teaching the basics of Le Chatelier's Principle.

  • Listen Sal, if u ever need a kidney or a pair of new lungs just PM me, i owe u big time.

  • @crocopmommish hahaha

  • regarding the first reaction, like the video says, When you add more A, you cause an increase in the products C and D, therefore the C's and D's are morely likely to bump into each other and then produce A and B - a new equilibrium will be reached. Does this mean that the concentration of A and B, the products relative to the conc. of C and D, the reactant, will ultimately be the same as the initial concentrations (before more A is added?

  • this video clarified my doubt clearly.....thanks lotzzz

  • this has everything i need

  • Piece of cake. Thanks!

  • Thanks for this video man, helped A LOT.

  • If pressure increases, the probability that the molecules will react will increase (because their concentration - the number of molecules per volume - is greater). Thinking in terms of probability really helps.

  • you are freaking amazing:)

  • to fadddy2, now 5 people

  • saved my life

  • I just graduated college with the help of your videos. I still watch them they are so incredible. Thank You!

  • what if B is solid and a d c are gases, will adding more B effect the equilibrium???

  • @MrShady0050 B will not effect the equilibrium.

  • @weatherman1994 why?

  • The 4 people who pressed the dislike button were black and thought it said "dis-i-like"

  • There are hundreds possibly even thousands of videos that this guy has done... His brain must be the size of Jupiter. haha - Thanks for this very much!!

  • Why are there any dislikes on any of these videos?

  • omg thk you..but my house it too noisy right now to concentrate.. haha lol

  • Thanks you so much. god bless u

  • Thank God for these videos, saving me from failing my final tomorrow. Thank you!

  • youre my hero!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • "Too shocking" hahaha

  • I LOVE YOU! I was so confused about this principle. At least i'll get this right on my test tomorrow.

  • i couldn't get through chemistry and physics without your videos!!

  • Comment removed

  • you saved my grade, thank you so much.

  • ur the BESTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT

  • Vote Salman Khan for President in 2012!!!!!!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • @1brightshadow1 if we did and he won, i bet he would stop making vids. Which no one wud want.

  • i love you.

  • Thank you! this is a confusing topic for me, but after your explaination, it became much easier!!

  • Honestly, one of the best explanations of Le chatelier's I've heard.

    Thank you my good man.

  • Honestly, the best explanation ive heard for Le Chatelier's

    Thank you my good man.

  • Are you sure you're pronouncing "Chatelier" correct because my chemistry teacher speaks French fluently and he pronounces is differently.

  • @RebornLegacy Don't know that it makes a difference...

  • I UNDERSTAND omg you helppppped me sooo sosososososo much so for chemc lass we have to basically do like a demo and what not and everyone gets like a topic and i picked le chatlelier's principle and i had noooo clue about it you :D just helppped me a ton thankyouuu<3

  • You have ended world hunger. Thank you man. Thank you.

  • You have ended world hunger.

  • I give up. I just... goodbye

  • I love you.

  • OMG my friend just pointed me in this direction and i watched it and i'm glad. i didn't understand this stuff when my teacher explained it. thank you for making this video

  • love how he says "hey sal!"

  • To Khan: are you genious? how do you know all about world's knowledge?

  • @themin91 he went to MIT and harvard i think

  • This is a great explanation!! thanks

  • 11:40 ... Hilarious. I rewound and watched that part just to laugh again.

  • OK, if by some miracle I pass my AP Chem test, it will be thanks to you. Watched so many of your videos and I can't thank you enough!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • so much better than my bad teacherr

  • I love you. You ae my new professor. Im gonna call your Professor Khan of KnanAcademy. You are my hero.

  • But for the temperature, and pressure, it up to reaction if it is exothermic or endothermic. Not all the temperature or heat supply will favor to produce more product. But for exothermic, when temperature increase the product will produce less and Kc or Kp will decrease

  • Comment removed

  • @cdeqokable Yes, but he makes the point that if it is required for the forward reaction then it would favour the products. He doesn't say it is true for all reactions. For example adding heat to an endothermic reaction would favour that reaction.

  • your helping me pass my A'levels

    god bless you :)

  • i have struggled so much with this concept. Watching this video made me shout "EUREKA!"

  • Thank you verry much i have a teacher that is french and noone can understand him at all and i have like no clue how to do this lol

  • This helps, but I'm still hella confused. lol

  • 11+ hrs of homework < 14 min of video

  • Comment removed

  • You. Are. Awesome. I get it.

  • thank you so much. i have a huge test tomorrow and my teacher is a complete dumbass. he made this idea sound like brain surgery, but you explained it perfectly

  • I never really understood the temperature concept. You really helped me alot. Thank you so much

  • Cheers Sal, for not saying that the reaction 'wants' to work against what you do to it, but explaining why it does so. Fed up of being taught anthropomorphic chemistry :p

  • wooooooooooooooooo

  • you got to the point and didn't talk in general terms... Thank you!

  • you kinda sound like brian cranston

  • your are life saviour. Everything makes sense when i watch your videos. Which by they way didn,t make any sense in my classroom. Really appreciate the hard work you put in. God bless you

  • If you make a paypal donation link, you'd quite a few donations.

  • this guy has to be part Chuck Norris

  • 210 people just aced their tests...plus mine (211) THANKYOU SO MUCH!!!!!!!

  • I think it all just clicked!! Thank you so much!

  • Your videos have helped me with biology. I hope your chemistry could really help me cause I really do suck in chemistry... if it does..you are truly the miracle!!

n yes..this vid helped me when I was only thinking "whatwhat what??" during class.

  • This is a a godsend

  • I love You.

  • What if you add an outside chemical to the reaction but its not a catalyst, what does it decrease??

  • Please be my Chemistry teacher.

  • HEY KHAN TIH IS HAFSA WALI FROM PAK AND REVIEWING 4 MY ENTRANCE TEST AND U TAUGHT ME HEEL LOT... U ALWAYS HELP ME SO MUCH THANKS DEAR BRO MAY MUSLIMS GO UP UP .......

  • 2 people should just give up

  • Oh thank you thank you !! be my teacher !!! :D

  • You saved my ass man!!!

  • just think of a seesaw

  • love it sal - keep up the amazing work

  • 11:11 why add 2 squared?

  • @dcsora because it was 2A + B...

you take the 2 in front of the A and set it as a power =)

great video, thanks, have a college level test on this tomorrow, and it's important to make SURE I get the basics.

  • i like it! it really helps with my project! thanks..,,

  • I like your videos Sal but I noticed a mistake in this video.

In the heat part, high heat favours endothermic reaction (backward) as the molecules will respond to this by decreasing heat.

And low heat favours exothermic reaction because if there's low heat, the molecules will respond to it by increasing it again because exothermic reactions well... Produce heat.

  • I love your vids! The teaching pace is just right! THANKS

  • i find watching your videos is a far better method of studying than doing my teacher's reviews.

  • god bless u man. god bless u

  • @AbhiLabi buddha bless u man. buddha bless u.

  • You're a great teacher... thanks heaps :)

  • thanks, I have a test tomorrow, and I anderstand better now!

  • omfg thanks so much my teacher makes no sense and you just taught our three days worth of stuff in fifteen min! thanks a bunch!

  • didnt u say when we add more A, B decreases?

    how did B become 6M ?

    :s

  • Sal you are a lifesaver. Thank you for helping me in advanced functions biology AND chemistry.

  • 2 people pay attention in class

  • World's best teacher.

  • You are amazing!! keep posting things like this please :) so much better than my chemistry teacher! Thankyou so much :)

  • You are amazing!! keep posting things like this please :) so much better than my chemistry teacher!

  • 2 days in 15 mins. Thanks a lot

  • i like the colours he uses, it's so bright, and it stays in ur head

  • @miiimo1993 Neon COLORS XD hehehe! My eyes hurt xP hehehe

  • Sal, i am studying nursing here in the Philippines originally from CA and i have to say, you have made my life easier. I pray GOD to give you more knowledge and strength in your mission to provide free knowledge all over the world. Now more than ever my generation has been pressured by high cost in tuition that few can afford. I have watched dozens of your videos over and over again. Thanks man! GOD bless you and your family!

  • huh!?

  • Hey Khan, I watch most of your Chemistry and Geometry videos.

Do you have any videos about how to name chemical formulas.?

    Like POH4 and NaSO4 etc.....

  • I am sitting here crying now, Because you make so much more sense than my Teacher, you have completely eliminated problems the "Teacher to Student" could make for me. I LOVE YOU! I fucking spend 6 hours fucking everything up with books from 2000 when you can teach me all that in 5 min.

*removes tears* YOU ARE A GOD SIR!

  • Its funny how I learned far more from this video than my teacher talking.

  • I think the "system under pressure" is a bad analogy

  • You are the replacement to all standard science teachers. Spectacular work!

  • i lost

  • 4 chan challenged me not to laugh and i failed.

  • Thanks a lot!!

    Please teach my chem class...
