i have a question when i was younger and diagnosed with adhd they put me on riddelin it didnt work then they put me on cylert and it worked for a while then they took it off the market i heard then i was perscribed valproic acid it worked until the dosage no longer worked so i just stoped taking it alltogther would adderall xr be a better fit for me since the valproic acid stopped working or should i try and go back to it

used to treat ADD. not ADDerall, add doesnt excist any more but back then when it did, no adhd kid would get this, they got methylphenidate (ritalin)

35 mg's a day for two years now. I'm now extremely organized and went from having about a C+ average to a straight 4.0. My life got so much better from the very start of this drug. Thanks Shire, Adderall's great. You're the best.

Although it's generic now, so credit goes to TEVA. IC Amphetamine Salts 35 mg capsule. (Substitute for Adderall XR)

adderall is inferior to dexadrine.  d-amphetamine works best in my opinion and I have no Idea why they include l-amphetamine in adderall. mabe to discourage abuse....good luck on that one.

I took a 25mg dosage from a friend to see if It would make me hyper or the opposite. I took it at school, around lunch time. After lunch I felt so calm and in control that I did very well in my next few classes. I think I really need a prescription, who should I consult? Also I am 15 and cannot myself see a doctor and would need to convince my parents.

You might wanna take this with food cause you wont eat for a while, depending on the dosage. I absolutely love this drug when im on it, but the comedown can be an absolute nightmare.

it shouldn't be, but ask your doctor to have your lung efficiency measured - it's a simple test where you blow air into a tube which measures the volume of oxygen

I took adderall once it was a 25mg I think, but I didnt sleep for about 40 hours, and I felt terrible for about two days afterword. Im 5"8 and about 170 lbs. whats wrong with me?

You may just be sensitive to the effects. For me it lasts about 12 hours, and the only side effect it has on me is loss of appetite.

if you don't regularly take adderall than 25mg is way too much for you.

try a smaller dosage around 10-15mg and don't take it late in the day

this drug is only a stimulant it is actually an amphetamine..it doesnt inhibu=it reabsorption of anything and doesnt affect concentration of anything its just a cns stimulant amphetamine type

Uh, amphetamine IS an MAO inhibitor, and the different amphetamine salts in Adderral also increase dopamine and norepinphrine. CNS stimulants do things like that. How do you think they achieve their stimulant effects? Adderall is FOUR different amphetamines in equal mixture (yipes.)

I enjoy taking adderall because not only does it relax me, it helps me be happy. I have severe depression and Adult ADD so this is like killing 2 birds with 1 stone. Thank you for explaining it Dr. Conner

Well, ive started to take it last week, and honeslty i dont feel depreded or bummed out anymore, i get alot more work done at work (im 20 and i have adult ADHD). i guess anoter good side efect is its cut my urge to smoke in freaking half, and it it wouldent hurt me not to eat so mutch since im a little over weight. ill see how i feel as my Rx is up than i go back to the doc next month

i get adderall crashes like 4 hours after i take my 1st 10mg in the morning....is it alright to take another 10mg capsule after the 1st one wears off?

like, is it alright to space out 30mg of adderall throught the day in 10mg capsules?

Never switch up dosage without speaking to your Dr. As someone else mentioned, there is XR, which is the subject of this video. It's a one a day extended release.

mabe this was just me but the past 8 months i was on amphetamine, it was the worst year of my life, and ive done so much research i probably know as much as you about amphetamines, methylphenidate was by far the worste, but i got alot of depression from vyvanse, i was on that for 6 months, and i finaly quit, and ive felt the best i ever have in.... as long as i can remember, i would highly sugjest against, phsyco stimulents, and to think that so maney kids are addicted to meds

Not to sound like a crutch, but everybody is different. There are people like myself whose condition benefits from taking medication. Just as I'm sure there are some who are on it, that may not need it. That is why you should be getting this Rx through a professional (a Psychiatrist, as in MD). Most reputable Drs don't write a script unless they truly believe it is best for the patient. It goes without saying that no Class II medication should be taken if it isn't needed by the patient.

I've tried this before...I was on it for 6 months...I began to gain a tolerance for it...so my doctor switched me to vyvanse. The vyvanse is really working on my ADHD and not supressing my appetite!
