  • Very enjoyable and inspirational :) Just laying down the plans for my garden. I currently have 4 small 2x4 raised beds, but it's time to kick it up a notch. I think I have made my mind up and will be going with sheet mulching. One day I hope my garden looks like yours! The cat is adorable, your growing your food and giving her food a nice place to hang out as well ;)

  • @GrdnovGreens Thank you :-) i hope to have some more helpful videos up soon... I have been growing 7 layer food forest in container planters! By using 0 till techniques, they are all healthy and doing quite well going into there first winter. With sheet mulching, i find that the most important thing seems to be to remember the natural landscapes and how they almost never have Earth exposed to the air...

  • hey dudes, get some more stuff down on that soil! i don't want to see that!! ... a sheet mulch should be at least 8" thick; yours is down to less than an inch by halfway through this vid... don't stop mulching clyde!

  • @lumpofloight LOL!!! I hear you Loud and Clear Clyde. No more of that thin ass sheet mulching, i promise. From you comment, i again realize that We need to update the videos to be more comprehensive. So you know, I tend to do successive additions to my carbon program; so 8" will eventually be well exceeded.

  • LAPSE?

  • Lapse! English; It's a language.

  • @handservant thanks for informing me of my mis speling. funy, i thought that English was just an estranged way of being... In truth, i kinda like the play on words. How do you feel inside when making such criticisms? I will correct the title of my video for your peculiar interest. Sending love your way ~

  • LAPSE!

  • LOVE the music!!

and the cat's havin' a ball.

And the leaves are so shiny! Sign of serious health, I just learned.

    Keep on keepin' on. Peace.

  • i love you...thank you for including our songs!

  • ;-)

  • absolutely gorgeous garden. the music was really nice too!

again and again, gratitude to you and your community for sharing your knowledge and experience.

  • GREAT STUFF!! I need to check out this bokashi business. I do actively aerated compost tea which is very efficient also. And I've turned it into a fine art. Love the soundtrack!

  • EM and Bokashi accelerate composting by an average of 50% time. the resulting compost has an increase in the beneficial Microbial count. I recommend using this kind of HIGH Grade Compost to Make your Tea. After the tea has Aerated and is finished brewing, u can add EM or Activated EM at a rate of 1 to 50 tea. This method is Highly effective and in such falls into the realms of EM technology.

    Thanks for the compliments,

  • you do good work. Inspirational work!

  • Thank You!

The work I do is for the Whole, Whole Heartedly....

  • looking sweet

just out of curiousity why do you put the straw on top of the cardboard and not the other way around?

  • Excellent question!

Sometimes i will (if i have enough) mulch beneath and on-top as-well. Sometimes straw, sometimes wood chips etc. Stratification is the emphasis. By layering Many many benefits arise, water absorption, nutrient retention, soil retention, enhancement and stabilization.

Cardboard left alone exposed to the sun..... a gust of wind can effortlessly take it away. More practical still, our cardboard (if not covered with mulch of some sort) Dries out easily and continues to ~

  • 2. Wick Out water. :-)

  • Impressive and Inspiring. Thanks.
