@vsatterfield Why? The audience is responding great. Laughing loudly and genuinely. Only difference is, he normally plays in stadium-sized arenas, whereas this room is pretty small.
@StickItUpYrBumGugle I admit, on average, British and Irish comedy is superior to American comedy. But Jesus H. Christ, do we Americans have to IMMEDIATELY comment on every video that we are scum? We have some damn good comedy over here, too.
@wimpylassiter2336 I don't think British and Irish comedy IS better on average. I think, particularly, the Irish have very good stand-ups right now. There not many overly clever British stand-ups. Being brash is very big right now I think, but appearing intelligent is very valued in the UK. We have nothing like TheDaily Show (The 10 O'Clock Show wasn't nearly as smart). And we've never had anything of the likes of The Simpsons or Richard Pryor, in my view. People know Friends.
@StickItUpYrBumGugle The 10 o'clock show kinda sucked. It had David Mitchell and Charlie Brooker, great, but Jimmy Carr and whassername ruined it. Also, they tried hard to be liberal, which sort of didnt work.. Dara O'Briain, BIll Bailey, and Dylan Moran are the 3 intelligent British/Irish standups. We have Louis CK, David Cross, and... ummm.... Ventriloquist Jeff Dunham is the highest paid comedian in America, and he is just a racist Rod Hull. All his fans are rednecks.
@wimpylassiter2336 Louis CK is great. I'm amazed that you know who Rod Hull is. Lauren Laverne was the woman on it and, to be fair to her, she's not a comedian, she's a presenter, but she's usually very witty at what she does and very sharp. I like Jimmy Carr too, but he wasn't good on that. Eddie Izard seems to have disappeared. I feel lucky to speak a language that has comedy from UK, Ireland, USA, Canada, Australia, NZ and then there's Henning Wehn, who makes me wet myself.
@StickItUpYrBumGugle OH, Eddie Izzard is a genius. not literally, but man he is just reallly talented. Ive only seen Henning Wehn on a few panel shows. And ive only heard of Rod Hull from occasional mentions on QI and i believe someone tried to put him in Room 101. i think.
One thing people in the UK have in common---Please point us in the direction of what to have a good moan about...America, commercials, whatever we can find..It is the reason we exhale our breath so that you can hear the sound of moaning and only inhale to exhale our constant barrage of how the world is shit and it's everyone else's fault but ours....Ahh Shut up!! Lol
It's funny to think that the audience didn't understand half of his material. Not only because they don't understand intelligent, brilliant humour, but because they don't understand what he's saying. Literally.
On a side note, I adore this man. I would happily bear his children and fetch him cigarettes and wine whenever he wants.
I keep seeing how this isn't showing his true routine, and how we Americans ruined his set....We, the American audience didn't request him to change anything...someone else in control of these things did, and Dylan himself changed it. And the audience aren't given the choice of do you all want him to do his real work or his edited version... if he stood firm by his original set, more than likely the audience would eat it up. I have personally watched his original works and enjoy it far better.
Americans don't appreciate intelligent humour!! This is NOT Dylan at his best. Watch Monster filmed in Australia. Note: Look at Bill Hicks. One of the most brilliant American comedians, embraced in Canada and the UK, where he played proper theatres and real venues... Adored for his philosophical, provocative humour and social commentaries, playing backwater dives in the states. Not enough potty humour or titty/dick jokes for the Americans sadly. Brainwashed Sheep don't get this kind of humour.
@20LookInside12 i actually just think he needed a bigger audience, it looks like hes only got like a 40 person audience which then seems like theres not a lot of laughter or appreciation of his jokes, unlike most of his other videos when hes pretty much in opera houses. hes just not that well known here.. i think hes brilliant might just take a while for ppl to notice
@sillyjontag321 Yes perhaps, but he's been around a while. People need to see talent beyond their own borders. Popularity - recognition of talent - is what garners a larger audience - right? I actually travelled to Bristol and saw him in the UK a few weeks ago, and he was just brilliant. Even a Canadian like myself could laugh at his 'local' humour... There needs to be more comedians getting folks to 'wake up' a little. :))
@20LookInside12 yeah i completely agree that people should expand and see the talent from their own borders and that Dylan really does have a great style that he doesn't just make the easy jokes, they are quite thought through. btw I'm really jealous you got to go see him in the uk :)
its only your poor old mother hear now ringing up to find out how you are should i do be cruicified from the terible cold winds which do blow off the phone when you're not calling which is all the time
He's rushing through his material, just wants to get to the end. Doesn't have his trademark pauses or emphasis. Probably thinking, "why did I agree to this, I'm never doing a show in this dumbfuck country again!"
Hah, he's not much into it. But this is still really good :) With additional material. He missed out the 'I can't walk the streets' line when made the 'women' punchline work.
I recommend drinking wine whilst watching his stand up, it just makes you go "Yes! Exactly! I've been saying that for years except I wasn't talking so much as passing out and trying to brush the red wine off of my tongue."
"all I could think was, 'you're going to forget my order, you're going to forget my order, you're being anally assaulted, you're going to forget my order'" LoL
@93hickey THANK YOU!!! God it annoys me whehe says moraaan

I'm an American and I would happily make Dylan Moran's kitten sick any day. Hands down my favorite comedian. I'm ashamed of this audience.
