(continued) I wanted to add that I respect "you guys" (programmers) very, very much since I have some programming experience as well. I've programmed in Java, C, C#, and HTML. The most recent project I was involved in was making a website for a local, non-profit organization with 4 other guys. Great fun. The reason I left CS, though, is because I'm no good with algorithms. I know it's necessary for succes, so I quit while I was ahead. I enjoy networking, though, so I'm okay with that. :)
It's very cool that you're a game programmer, Castaa. My friends are in CS, and they want to become game programmers as well. When I was in CS, I always wanted to make productivity suite programs. They found it strange that I would want to do something "so boring." I'm actually no longer a CS student, and instead I'm going into networking. I would like to become a network admininistrator or engineer. I've considered databases and information systems design, but I think networking is for me.
Hey there. I have a few quick questions. How large is the team that you're working with? What (specifically) are you tasked with? Are you working on the engine, scripting (if you're using them), AI, or anything in particular?
I hate programming so much, I wish I could get motivated. My problem is I have no idea what I want to do out of college and I only have a year left. I got into Information Technology and hoped to find something specific that excited me. Networks really was interesting but I only get a few classes on that as well as programming and web design, we never get to specifics on anything really :(
no1...i said that for a example on how big a page of code would be...i never said anything about coding in word, i was replying to the question on how big a page of code is.
As a follow up question: I see many technical schools offering degrees in the gaming industry now. (ie DeVry) What is the opinion of those degrees within the industry vs. one from a university?
Personally, I have never worked with an engineer that came from a "DeVry type" program. Nearly all the engineers that I have worked with have had computer science degrees from a major state or private university. So take that for what it's worth.
You know I looked hard for the ears for Halloween but surprising I could not find Mouseketeer Ears for sale anywhere locally or the Internet. Only some vintage $100 replica version were being sold.
I like the AFX choon at the beginning

I really appreciate your observant, humanistic mind. With that said,
What do think of all people commenting about your shirt?
Do you find it shallow?
Are most people shallow?

wow, talk about reading WAY too far into something!

before you actully explain the devlopment process, could you post a list of aspects that a programmer should know first?
