o.o yeah he did i studied the herbie films and one day in the Love Bug special features i saw a Porsche 356 engine in Herbie! Plus it had dual carbs and they rubbed it out and made it look like the original factory engine but it had alot of serious power so thats why Herbie goes so fast

I know a little about the modifications made at Herbie's cars in the movie. The sure is that 356 engine is much slower than the custom type1 and especially from some type4 monsters..... :)

As I learned, Fredie invented the beetles and after some years later start thinking for the Porsche. So the old Bugs give heart beat to the young Porsche..... and go on.

Yes I know that the use of variety of different kind of engines on aircooled VW is very common. I used to have a type 3 with a six cylinder 2.7 Porsche too. In my mind now is to built a 68 bug wearing a 98 Subaru WRX 22L turbo engine for some 11s.

Yes. Quaife makes a limited slip diff for the type one transaxle, either IRS or swingaxle.

The song choosen is due to the fact is about smoke coming after burns and have been released first time at around the age of this bug. This song as the car, were been passed from some modifications. So the song fit like a glove

The Quaiffe LSD (Limited slip deferencial) is for control the unwanted different rotations between the two rears tires, thats make the rear drive cars laungh better or to spin in the same wise rotations concluting the effect you are seeing on my bug. About the size of my engine is a secret that "Aircooled doctor" keep it top secret.
