Raised as a christian I have had my fair share of stuggles. I recently came out to my friends and family letting them know im gay. But for some odd reason they say I cant be religious? I have a faith in God, I pray to God, and I believe he loves me as much as he loves everyone else. My parents told me that I cant go to church with them because they're ashamed of me... that they will be embarassed... I dont know what there issue is. Whats your opinion?
God does love you. I am a Christian and have been all of my life as well. I am a FIRM believer that there are several things that are in the Old Testament that are not practiced anymore (i.e. Stoning, Women not being able to be in town while they are on their monthly cycles, not being able to cut your hair) and homosexuality is filed in the catagories right along with those stupid older laws. I know in my heart (As a straight Christian person) That God loves you! :)

I personally don't agree with homosexuality, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't be surrounded by encouragement and love and support from your family. I seriously admire your bravery in coming out, and I'm really sorry your family is giving you a hard time. God won't let you go, he's with you, he loves you, and he'll find you. :) Praying for you.
This song is very powerful & anointed. It makes me cry. I've been struggling with anger, depression, selfishness, sex addiction, low self esteem & other family issues. I now know that Jesus is my only real hope. If your reading this please pray for me. Thanks!

this song changed me. i sung it at church camp, i had never heard it before. before this song i was trying to believe i had a relationship with god. and after hearing it, i know i do. this song opened my eyes. that weekend, i was baptized in the lake at the camp. because i dont need to see it to believe it<3
@keithiopianthree Not really..... some people have different preferences, even within the Church. I have godly parents, but they just don't like Hillsong...they're into Gaither Vocal Band, and so on.... I like those too, but I prefer Hillsong. Others like TobyMac or MercyMe....which I am really not fond of. But I know their hearts have been touched by songs that I personally dislike.

It was a feeling I had not experienced in a long time when I deviated from God's teaching. I cried for a while and chanced upon this video shortly after. God's name is truly GLORIOUS!

@ReedSpencer8 we all live in sin - but if you just focus on jesus, and put jesus before and in every circumstance in your life, you'll realize that, sin is easier to deal with.
if you try and run from sin in your ability, it will catch up and you'll end up running to it.
so you need god to help you with the run - but god won't run from sin! so just look to god, and he'll lead you away from it.

But realize .. you don't have to go on 'one more church retreat' or find the next 'great worship song' or hear the next 'revival speaker'. You have an open heaven ever since being saved. God wants you to go, he has given you all you need in His Spirit. It is very hard I understand, but it's also easy to get in the mindset of 'I need to get promoted before I go out and change the world!' God's given you what you need:)
@atjoslin AMEN! I have to agree with atjoslin, you dont have to go to a big retreat or church conference but, God is right there and he is with you, just ask him to be with you. Ive been feeling so lost and left behind lately, I feel like nobody truly cares for eachother at our Youth Group, and I've been getting so desperate, I just wish I had the courage to reach out to God again and be okay with getting hurt but I've been there and I couldnt do it anymore, I'm kind of just floating around in my walk with God. I am just 14 going on 15 and i have been raised to be a girl of God . But since i was 13 , i had depression . my mom helped me when it first started . but latley we had been fighting and arguing and it just makes me feel even worse of myself as a daughter . can someone please pray for me and to make things better with both my depression and to stop the arguments with my mom . ?

I had depression for a while too and this is just to perservere in your faith; i will pray for you and dont give up; when the depression is at its worse, it means something really big is coming your way

I know it because I'm a depressed person.My depression is physical because my brain don't produce serotonina, then I need to take medicine.Don't give up and continue reading the Bible and praying.God is with you all the time. We must rely solely on God and trust Him to do it all... and prayers work. Feelings change, and you will change with them if you depend on feelings alone.

Been living in the dark, away from God's love until last night when I felt the sudden desire to google Psalm 23:4. As I read the verse, I was overcome by a feeling that I cannot describe in words. It was a feeling I had not experienced in a long time when I deviated from God's teaching. I cried for a while and chanced upon this video shortly after. God's name is truly GLORIOUS!

@ReedSpencer8 we all live in sin - but if you just focus on jesus, and put jesus before and in every circumstance in your life, you'll realize that, sin is easier to deal with.
if you try and run from sin in your ability, it will catch up and you'll end up running to it.
so you need god to help you with the run - but god won't run from sin! so just look to god, and he'll lead you away from it.

@alicetripled Hey alicetripled, I'll pray that God shows you more of Him. But realize .. you don't have to go on 'one more church retreat' or find the next 'great worship song' or hear the next 'revival speaker'. You have an open heaven ever since being saved. God wants you to go, he has given you all you need in His Spirit. It is very hard I understand, but it's also easy to get in the mindset of 'I need to get promoted before I go out and change the world!' God's given you what you need:)

@atjoslin AMEN! I have to agree with atjoslin, you dont have to go to a big retreat or church conference but, God is right there and he is with you, just ask him to be with you. Remember when Christ left this earth he sent the Holy Spirit to be with us and strengthen us and teach us. Just truly pour out to God how you feel, God wants us to give our hearts to him. Ive been feeling so lost and left behind lately, I feel like nobody truly cares for eachother at our Youth Group, and I've been getting so desperate, I just wish I had the courage to reach out to God again and be okay with getting hurt but I've been there and I couldnt do it anymore, I'm kind of just floating around in my walk with God. But I love this song, its so applicable and inspirational. THANK YOU ALL JUST FOR WRITING AND BEING CHRISTIANS ITS SOO INSPIRATIONAL

He wants to be your best friend, you can talk to him, just like you talk to your friends, just in freedom and openess. Express how you feel to God, he is listening.
