Lars IS a total arse!! but being a fellow drummer, I have many a time sat with a puzzled expression on my face as a guitarist plays a boring, beatless riff to me and I try to work out an original beat to make it interesting and not just settle for a "solid beat" as james says. To all assembled it would look like I was in trouble for a while.... until it would click into place in my head and I'd unleash a killer bit of drumming!!

This section of Some Kind is them trying to find something new rhythmically. Yes, this sounds really terrible, but if you knew anything you'd know they were in a trial and error process. Every composer has to try new things. This idea doesn't work and they don't use it; simple. I'm doing a masters in composition at the moment, and I can tell you not all great ideas start great. Ulrich has created some of the most influential work in heavy music, so please grow up, it's a bad influence.

Either way, I don't bother with rap, I don't listen to it. I don't appreciate it. If I have to give ANY credit, to ANY rappers, it would be (as much as I hate him too) Eminem, simply because he writes decent lyrics, and the way he raps them, and Bone, Thugs N Harmony, for the same reasons. But at any rate, to stick on subject, Lars is NOT a bad drummer.

Lars IS a total arse!! but being a fellow drummer, I have many a time sat with a puzzled expression on my face as a guitarist plays a boring, beatless riff to me and I try to work out an original beat to make it interesting and not just settle for a "solid beat" as james says. To all assembled it would look like I was in trouble for a while.... until it would click into place in my head and I'd unleash a killer bit of drumming!!

This section of Some Kind is them trying to find something new rhythmically. Yes, this sounds really terrible, but if you knew anything you'd know they were in a trial and error process. Every composer has to try new things. This idea doesn't work and they don't use it; simple. I'm doing a masters in composition at the moment, and I can tell you not all great ideas start great. Ulrich has created some of the most influential work in heavy music, so please grow up, it's a bad influence.

And simply because some douche thinks he is certain Lars is a bad drummer, and thinks anyone who thinks otherwise is "a dumb fuck". I based that on his liking of such filth. Either way, I don't bother with rap, I don't listen to it. I don't appreciate it. If I have to give ANY credit, to ANY rappers, it would be (as much as I hate him too) Eminem, simply because he writes decent lyrics, and the way he raps them, and Bone, Thugs N Harmony, for the same reasons. But at any rate, to stick on subject, Lars is NOT a bad drummer.
