Did someone reply to me about saying chip adn shade might be playable but not Knuckles and Tails because I looked it up on WIkipedia and they revealed its SOnic 4 and that only Sonic would be playable.
well, I can't really see any reason why sonic 4 should only be for one player. Since sonic 2 and 3 was both playable with Sonic and Tails team up, so if this is a sequel to the series, Tails should be playable.
yea... I will however still buy it, but it it's not for two players... then it can't ever be as good as the old games. The first Sonic game was fun, but got a bit boring over time since you couldn't even spin... you had to press down when running to actually perform a spin attack.
And in the next game... spin attack and a sidekick. As for the number 3. Tails even got more functions in the third one. And in the fourth one remove Tails from the game? I don't like that...

i disagree. sonic unleasged was an awesome comback. (well the wii version) You had good graphics on the 360 and ps3 though. But what was awesome was going back to the side scrolling! After that game, sonic games got better in my opinion.

I honestly don't get the whole "i wish we had the old games back" shit, I don't really see how no new game can ever beat any old game. People just get swept up in the nostalgia and can't accept that they might like a new game better than an old one.

I will say that sonic has done more then well on the gameboy. most of those are actually good to great. sonic rush is actually one of the very best sonic games i've played in a long time.

As a diehard fan who's bored to death of the recent terrible 3D sonic games, I have to say I'm pretty excited about this.
Problem is, alot of the 3D Sonic Games tend to get far too up their own arse about complicated plotlines and morals - at the end of the say, when you buy a game with a blue oversized hedgehog who can run really fast and beat up some fat inventor, All you're going to want to do in it is run really fast and beat up a fat inventor.
I gotta be honest here; I am not very enthusiastic about this. Don't get me wrong, I love how the classics go, but everyone blows all these little insigificant matters way WAY out of proportion. And before anyone starts saying I'm some idiot 7 year old, I happen to be 23 and have played sonic since it began. And unlike the rest of you morons I base my opinion on what I experiance instead of bending over to the retards on IGN or Game Informer.

People saying the character models used since Sonic Adventure were the cause of Sonic's downfall, voice acting... Idiots the whole lot.
It depends really, not all of them are as bad as they're made out to be. Sonic Adventure 2 was superb, Sonic Heroes as well. Although, I'm not really mad keen on the new characters they constantly introduce as of recently, and the consistent gimmicks (like Sonic turning into a Werehog, lawl).
I largely prefer the 2D games as a personal preference, but you do have a valid point in that the 3D games aren't completely awful.
I hardly consider the Werehog a gimick. Mario has done more games, adventure or otherwise than any other character because of Sonic's sucsess in the old days. Well, now it's Sonic's turn to do something to keep himself in the game. Have you seen the competition? It's getting to where classic icons can't do anything no thanks to graphic whores who blindly follow Sony and Microsoft. Sonic deserves to have some variety. Just having one style of gameplay throughout will not help him stay in the game
I guess so. For me though, I see it in that we're playing a game that revolves around an oversized blue hedgehog who can run really fast and beats up a fat scientist. At the end of the day, all I really want out of it is to be able to run fast and beat up fat scientists. I couldn't really care about 2D/3D or however shallow the plot is, as long as I get my fix of fast platforming :P
And we've always gotten that haven't we? So what about big plots and apocolyptic beasts, Eggman still causes trouble and h gets his at the end each time. That's enough for me. It may not be exactly like the classics, bt I find it's really the best. True the main games should try to keep with tradition, but it shouldn't follow so closely that it seems like a clone of the original. That's what I'm afraid this game may turn out to be.

well, I can't really see any reason why sonic 4 should only be for one player. Since sonic 2 and 3 was both playable with Sonic and Tails team up, so if this is a sequel to the series, Tails should be playable.

yea... I will however still buy it, but it it's not for two players... then it can't ever be as good as the old games. The first Sonic game was fun, but got a bit boring over time since you couldn't even spin... you had to press down when running to actually perform a spin attack.
And in the next game... spin attack and a sidekick. As for the number 3. Tails even got more functions in the third one. And in the fourth one remove Tails from the game? I don't like that...

i disagree. sonic unleasged was an awesome comback. (well the wii version) You had good graphics on the 360 and ps3 though. But what was awesome was going back to the side scrolling! After that game, sonic games got better in my opinion.

oh, i gave the hedgehog a chance. I bought and played 3d sonic blast, knuckles kotics, sonic spin ball, sonic heroes, sonic unleashed, that sonic with the sword thing for the wii, oh I've played WAY too many sonic games hoping that this one will be better. maybe THIS one will work out. Nope.. they ALL suck!
I will say that sonic has done more then well on the gameboy. most of those are actually good to great. sonic rush is actually one of the very best sonic games i've played in a long time.

As a diehard fan who's bored to death of the recent terrible 3D sonic games, I have to say I'm pretty excited about this.
Problem is, alot of the 3D Sonic Games tend to get far too up their own arse about complicated plotlines and morals - at the end of the say, when you buy a game with a blue oversized hedgehog who can run really fast and beat up some fat inventor, All you're going to want to do in it is run really fast and beat up a fat inventor.

Sorry I hurt your feelings, kid. But my opinion still stands. I mean honestly; the recent games are no where near as bad as what people deem them to be. I know so from personal experiance. It depends really, not all of them are as bad as they're made out to be. Sonic Adventure 2 was superb, Sonic Heroes as well. Although, I'm not really mad keen on the new characters they constantly introduce as of recently, and the consistent gimmicks (like Sonic turning into a Werehog, lawl).
I largely prefer the 2D games as a personal preference, but you do have a valid point in that the 3D games aren't completely awful.

I hardly consider the Werehog a gimick. Mario has done more games, adventure or otherwise than any other character because of Sonic's sucsess in the old days. Well, now it's Sonic's turn to do something to keep himself in the game. Have you seen the competition? It's getting to where classic icons can't do anything no thanks to graphic whores who blindly follow Sony and Microsoft. Sonic deserves to have some variety. Just having one style of gameplay throughout will not help him stay in the game

I guess so. For me though, I see it in that we're playing a game that revolves around an oversized blue hedgehog who can run really fast and beats up a fat scientist. At the end of the day, all I really want out of it is to be able to run fast and beat up fat scientists. I couldn't really care about 2D/3D or however shallow the plot is, as long as I get my fix of fast platforming :P

It may not be exactly like the classics, bt I find it's really the best. True the main games should try to keep with tradition, but it shouldn't follow so closely that it seems like a clone of the original. That's what I'm afraid this game may turn out to be.
