turn down your neck pick up to get rid of that plucky sound during the clean part, it still needs work (the song) your distortion coming through your marshall is fine you need to work on beefing up your sound! you have everything you need, you just need to fuck with it. oh and you can use up and down strokes with picking for some parts the whole thing isn't just down picking!
Dude the intro wasnt played so good but the rest is amazing. Real good job on the solo dude!! But you should work on the metallica sound! Your guitar has got emg's ?! You need to play around with your settings.. But otherwise amazing!!

But i am searching around a bit for a good distortion pedal for the metallica sound, maybe you have got a tip? the amps overdrive channel is good for the old stuff, but that direct and ''powerfull'' sound i can't get out of it
Your solo is a little sketchy I can hear the chuks from the pick when the solo is played. To eliminate this "chuk" during solos you must hit the string and press down on the fret at the exact same time. Practice practice is all I can say good luck!

this picking sound can even here on some metallica studio songs. and i practice about 4 hours a day lately. so dont worry
