Arduino + MAX6955 + MAX6956

I'm working with an Arduino clone (Davolino) and a MAX6956 ... I can get all the LED's to light up, but I'm having a bit of a problem getting the brightness functions to work, any chance you might be willing to post your code so I can use it as a starting place?

Where did you buy the MAX6955???

In comparison, the MAX7219 can be bought very easily from various well known electronic dealers and eBay shops, but searching the web for MAX6955 always only brought me to wholesale companies.
