I'm at 12 weeks today and I'm going to hear the heartbeat for the first time today! Watching this video made me feel a little more at ease, nervous first timer here!
Who said you were wasting your OBs time??!! That's ridiculous! You are paying him aren't you? Or at least your insurance company is... sometimes I really don't get people and why they say the stuff they say. Sheesh!

I'm just so fascinated by pregnancy...that's why I'm so thankful for people like you, Lucy, Megan, etc. who share it with me since I can't have children.
They are trying to get a birth center in my small town there are no midwives around my area! It just sucks! Hopefully by the time I get pregnant they will have one we shall see! I am still thinking it's a boy for some odd reason!
Ok so I said boy before the intelligender thing and after it but with 170 as a heart beat it kinda makes me thing girl.. ahhh lol Wasting a ob's time? They really don't care about time. They get paid when you see them so I don't think it is a big deal. People just like to complain about every little thing! Glad you got to hear the heart beat!
Okay,I have to say I'm confused as to why anyone would say you were wasting an OB's time?!? They work for you - not the other way around, and you pay them for their service so if you want to go to 5 OB's that is your choice. Nutty folks, seriously. So glad that you guys are comfortable with your midwife and everything is looking good. Congrats on the hydration too! =)
do you have 'predictions' on boy/girl for higher heartbeats? at my 8 week appointment babys heartbeat was 178 and the 10 week it was 173? i know it's just a myth, but do you go by it?
@twistedheartsx I do not. idk- maybe later on in pregnancy? maybe for some people but naturally in the beginning they're going to be higher anyhow. Deacon was pretty close around this time.
Aww that is soo cool that your OB is good with home births! There are SO SO few that are. You lucked out. Midwives are awesome, aren't thye?! Their atmosphereis just so heart warming I think. :) I love baby heart beats soo cute!
@nannerskins I know! It's NUTS! Granted this is the only OB in our area and the reason I even went to him is because of her recmnding him! So it wasn't a fluke... but yes- the atmosphere is night and day- it just feels right!

My boy had a HB in the 170's early on but he is a boy and been in the 120-140's ever since then.

I still say girl. with my sons there heart beats were always 130's area and there all boy from the very beginning lol.

ahh the heartbeat. I cried every time I saw my kids on ultrasound and the heart beat. I'm a big baby. It's so beautiful though! Congrats again hun :)
