The Monitor is dell very old when she was pouring liquid hydrogen... the video was recorded in 2008, hopefully this overclocking worked,,but not always.. i have the intel E8400 duo and i love it. i run it so easily @ 3.6 ghz. and it can go much higher. i beleive theres the E8300, E8400, or E8500 options. the E8400 is 3ghz standard with very low energy usage
really not much over clock when my 280gtx can run on air at 700core clock but I keep it at 670 24/7 air for gaming ,and I get 160gb/s bandwidth vs stock 140gb/s

@GRUNTS2009 1.The type of cpu doesn't really matter (well unless it bottlenecks) it's the graphics chipset and power supply that really matter the most, but judging that you already have an nvidia card in there it looks like the gtx 460 will work. 2.Gtx 460, gtx 560 or basically any dx11 card in the 149.99-249.99 price range

I can tell that you have NEVER played on a 3.000 dollar pc before. Thanks to Ray Tracing and DX11's HBAO we're close to realism on the PC. Whereas the Consoles are errr, FAR behind.

That math doesn't seem right to me. 2.14x is not attributed entirely to SLI but to the fact that "extreme" overclocking was made possible with the use of liquid nitrogen.
Since the average user can certainly achieve gains with SLI, it's not going to be 2.14x minus the crazy cooling power of liquid nitrogen.
I'd be much more interested to see one GTX460 max overclocked on stock cooling, then 2 in SLI on the same overclock in order to get a real value for the SLI gain.
Well it wasn't 2.14X because you weren't OC'ing the first time.
If there wasn't an overclock (they were bound to have OCd the CPU), and just the 1 Graphics Card, and tried to OC the GPU, then you'd get no better, the CPU would start to be a bottleneck.

Look at Mafia 2's Physx, look at Unengine heaven 2.1's Tessellation. Look at the Nvidia Hair rendering in realtime. look at the ray tracing which is 100% similar to real lightening (this tech wont be used for a long time tho), look at HBAO which is 100% similar to real shadowing. I can tell that you have NEVER played on a 3.000 dollar pc before. Thanks to Ray Tracing and DX11's HBAO we're close to realism on the PC. Whereas the Consoles are errr, FAR behind.

AA= Anti Aliasing, it improves the quality and removes jagged edges per AA. 2xAA-64xAA can be set.. Lol, you're talking about exclusives, i didn't even refer to that (have you ever used a modern gaming pc before?) You do know that Lost Planet 2 is one of the worst looking DX9-11 titles this year?. Look at these instead: Heaven 2.1, Just Cause 2, Metro 2033, Mafia 2, and many more.

Quad Core Q6600, 4 GB RAM, GeForce860GT. When it started aging I bought Xbox. I did the same 10 years ago when my PC was too slow. I bought PS2. PC is for work. Consoles for fun. For me, of course.But PC users doesn't want to hear anything about consoles.

I know the vid is 2 and a 1/2 yrs old, but I have the 680i, a QX6850, and a GTX 260-216, and my Vantage scores are:
Gpu-9,965 ( OCed as far as it will go, but on AIR!!!!)
Cpu-33,878 (OCed to 3.6 but not done as my NB therms are holding me back. And they say my cpu and my MB DO NOT work well together:-P
She may have knowledge, but I think she got Glad-Handed by Nvidia. I mean you know enuff about extreme cooling methods, but doesn't notice the seriously diminished returns using that method???????

That math doesn't seem right to me. 2.14x is not attributed entirely to SLI but to the fact that "extreme" overclocking was made possible with the use of liquid nitrogen.
Since the average user can certainly achieve gains with SLI, it's not going to be 2.14x minus the crazy cooling power of liquid nitrogen.
I'd be much more interested to see one GTX460 max overclocked on stock cooling, then 2 in SLI on the same overclock in order to get a real value for the SLI gain.

Well it wasn't 2.14X because you weren't OC'ing the first time.
If there wasn't an overclock (they were bound to have OCd the CPU), and just the 1 Graphics Card, and tried to OC the GPU, then you'd get no better, the CPU would start to be a bottleneck.

fail ..... the single gtx 280 wasn't overlocked. and 2x gtx 280 and only 10.000 3dmark points is bad , because of using liquid nitrogen for cooling and overlocking them.

@showty90 No worth getting a liquid nitrogen and you also have to pour a damn liquid every 5-10 minutes, you can get ASUS EAHHD5870 with extra large fan on it which is 17 % cooler and you can unlock voltage with smart doctor software which makes a video card 50 % faster.
