Jim McCann, had a solo career after being a member of "the Ludlows". He had his own TV show, "the McCann Man" which boasts, I beleive the only televised version of Luke Kelly singing "Scorn not his simplicity".
He was a friend of Luke's and at his suggestion joined the Dubliners. (Not sure of all the correct dates) He joined them on stage for the 2005(?)reunion.
as i remember well, they joined 2002 for the 40th anniversary in dublin, got the dvd.. with paddy reilly and also the great ronnie drew - never been forgotten. afterwards jim had that badly throatcancer, and it seems, the great voice is lost.... but thank god, hes still there...
This is by far the most enlightening and meaningful song in history, to say nothing of its great spirit. Long live Ireland. Hooray!
