We used to practice on a big piece of cardboard in my friends basement. I haven't seen this video in 24 years!!! WOW!!! Thanks!!! Brings back a lot!!!
You must have been born in the new millenium. I guess you liked going to parties that were shot up or fights broke out. you don't know what you missed.
your probaly right brkdancers today are better, but rocksteady the nycitybreakes were the blueprint of todays breakdancers. Crazylegs will be the godfather
everthing has to evovle. but those were great times.
don't forget these were kids off the street who invented the breakdance scene.the breakers of today have evolved though these kids.lmao at your ignorance.learn your history before you deride it.
Unfortunately, you forget that these were the pionners of breakin. They started it all. Everyone to follow is just a wannabe. Plus, this was the real hip hop culture. There ain't shit that can compare now in days. By the way, I was a 9 year old b-boy during the time Beat Street came out. This was a magical time!!
I love this song from Cindy Mizelle.I saw Beat Street at the Logan Theater when i was 14 years old i still love this movie.Thi is true hip hop damn i miss those days go see Planet B-Boy.
I love this song from Cindy Mizelle.I saw Beat Street at the Logan Theater when i was 14 years old i still love this movie.Thi is true hip hop damn i miss those days go see Planet B-Boy.
watching them dancing in the subway car going to the roxy club & dj jazzy jay mixing this after beat street & nyc breaker battled was the favorite parts in the whole movie. I bought the 12" record. This song brings back the best party times in my youth. OMFG! THERE WAS A MUSIC VIDEO FOR THIS!? THANKS Fstyl FOR POSTING THIS VERY RARE AMERICAN GEM TO ME
She grew up across the street from the Jacksons in Gary, Indiana, and was friends with them and the family. She has become a very great and in demand session singer. She did have some solo albums too. This song was a big single from the "Beat Street" soundtrack, I heard it a lot on radio growing up in Nigeria (Radio Rivers 2 - fm stereo).
wow,,ive seen most of the beat street videos and all of underground shit..but ive never seen this shit...THIS IS ONE OF THE BADDEST JAMS TO BREAK TOO,,EVEN THOUGH ALOT OF HOMIES DONT LIKE IT ...IT WAS THE THEME SONG FOR THE START OF THE BEST BREAK DANCE SCENE EVER!!!! THE START OF THE ROXY!!!!!
Oh yeah, the lovely Cindy Mizelle! What a voice this lady has! I loved her vocal on the Attitude track 'Love Me Tonight'. A true prefessionl in everything she committs herself to & with such a powerhouse vocal! No wonder Luther Vandross chose her to be one of his key background vocalists for so mnay years!
What a bummer the next generation never got to experiance the 80's hip hop. They all have lost the nucleus of what hip hop was all about. Nowadays its all about the money/girls/car you drive...shocking. Beat Street...the king of the Beats!! I see you rockin that beats form across the street aha huh
The scenes at 1:36 were all delated! Due to the caracther of "Kadeem Hardison" was credited as "High School Student" in the film. However, his scenes are all cut from the final version.
Remember the 80's like it was yesterday, if I picked a decade to live in, the 80's would be on top of my list.

Hiphop back then knew how to use jazz, rap, funk, r&b, soul, disco, rock to make something. Maybe only dance better now.
Hiphop had messages and revolution. Now no unique sounds.
There would be no Rage Against the Machine if Public Enemy didnt mix rap and metal together.
Money and Music industry screwed up musicianship.
Kinda who people vote down most music:
souljaboy/justin bieber fans,
Racist country fans,
Punkers-
SuperHardcore old school who ONLY like 1type of music

This comment has received too many negative votes show
this reminds me how much the 80's sucked

You must have been born in the new millenium. I guess you liked going to parties that were shot up or fights broke out. you don't know what you missed.
illwitdapill67 3 years ago
no i grew up directly in the 80's - I graduated h.s. in 1989 - 80's were the worst!!!

no.. "Ice-T "[real name: Tracy] did a cheesie ass rap in the westcoast version, Breakin'
Beat Street' has a greater story, better cast of characters and bomb ass breakers lol
Rock Steady crew won the battle in my opinion, but todays breakers would crush these guys to pieces!! lmao
DICACIO 3 years ago
your probaly right brkdancers today are better, but rocksteady the nycitybreakes were the blueprint of todays breakdancers. Crazylegs will be the godfather
everthing has to evovle. but those were great times.
synplorer 3 years ago 2
don't forget these were kids off the street who invented the breakdance scene.the breakers of today have evolved though these kids.lmao at your ignorance.learn your history before you deride it.
pumapele 3 years ago 2
True dat...That's like comparing today's rap vs old school. This is where it all started, it had to evolve from this....
illwitdapill67 3 years ago 2
Sorry, but Breakin' was superior. Dance-wise, cinematography-wise, and music-wise.
audiolove1976 3 years ago
Unfortunately, you forget that these were the pionners of breakin. They started it all. Everyone to follow is just a wannabe. Plus, this was the real hip hop culture. There ain't shit that can compare now in days. By the way, I was a 9 year old b-boy during the time Beat Street came out. This was a magical time!!
