  • Someone get this sent to the Video Flight of the nearest Communications Squadron to fix the audio sync problem for crying out loud :P

  • where did you find this awesome vid?!

  • @imacoony let me tell you, i heard an old usaf officer who said what the public has seen or heard of only scratches the surface of what is either developed or being developed. god only knows what we will see you your lifetime.

  • i have a stupid question..the soldiers seen in sg1 the other sg teams..would they be air force personnel or would they be soldiers from the regular army?? it's just im not american and have no idea on how the american air force works..whether they'd have ground troops or not etc....

  • @Phil483282 They're Air Force personnel, or Airmen, as they're called. They're not soldiers which would be Army personnel. Basically in the U.S. there are Soldiers (Army), Sailors (Navy), Airmen (Air Force), Marines (Marine Corps) and Guardsmen (Coast Guard). That being said the U.S. Air Force does have special forces who do ground operations, and most SGC airmen were special forces trained. Also, just as an FYI, less than 5% of air force personnel actually fly aircraft ;)

  • No surprise that the show helped recruitment. The character of Sam Carter alone helped the most; a smart, competent, professional and human face to Air force women! It also helped get out the message that The USAF really, actually DOES have Special Forces who do ground operations too!

  • Kinda of funny that SG1 has helped with Air Force recruiting.

  • well, although i completely agree, when talking about records and such, they usually only count US shows.

  • what about the award of hononary brigadier general that RDA get? I didn't see it is mention in here.

  • does the air force have it's own tv network? or is this a show just for air force members?

  • I think he's from "The Pentagon Channel," they do stuff like these a lot.

  • I really love it when the makers of a show "make out" with their material

    know what I mean?

they really get into that stuff and make it more authentic and realistic

  • Thank u stargate for keeping in touch with the militaries protocals. It makes it all the more releastic

  • That would be awesome if that was real. I would become an American citizen just for the chance to get into the Stargate program.

  • well they`re both awesome, nothing wrong with ether, just that they both arn`t on our screens enough.

  • cadet hailey was a hottie

  • nope doctor who is the longest running, it was off for 15 years, but ran for almost 20 years in it`s first no stop run

  • Yeah, he actually said it wrong. SG-1's record is "the longest running American science fiction show"... also, saying that it outran the original Star Trek is kind of lame... because, though a great show, it only lasted 3 seasons. :) But, still, this is a cool clip.

  • indeed

  • indeed

  • LOL one of the worst mistake they did was in the pilot! there was a major, he had major insignia on his lapels but had tech sergeant rank on his shoulders lol. I LOVE THIS SHOW!!!

  • thank you for posting that, it was very interesting

  • They are great... anyway.. am i the only one to think that the guy at the beginning is identical to Major Davies??? I don't know..he doesn't really look like him, but i don't know he kind resembles him... don't know...

  • it's in the record books! *rushes to buy a copy*

    :)

  • Stargate is the longest continually running sci-fi show. Dr. Who has been running for more years total, but it has stopped and started several times.

  • This isn't the longest running scifi show. Doctor Who has run for far longer.

    Someone hasn't done their research...

  • I think they're only thinking about American scifi.

  • I think they were talking about good sci-fi shows.

  • no docotor who has been going on and off stargate has done 10 years non stop

  • @MrDialup Doctor who had many breaks in it where they're wasnt any episodes being made. stargate was continuous filming

  • @MrDialup Dr. Who has stopped and started up again later. They say it's the longest tenured if you pay attention.

  • yeah, i just love it how the air force has so much faith in the show. sg1 has defiantly given me a different perspective the air force!

  • I agree, It's a great show

  • This is so informative and I love Rick and Amanda been in them, I just so love this show
