  • Cool music but rather a shitty game haha.

It's way too easy and i think we can all agree that easy games are shitty. Haha.

  • a theme that should be played in our hearts after 21 dec 2012

  • I would love to see this game on the PS3. I am very interesting in hearing Kefka's maniacal laughter and the opera scene with that kind of console power.

  • NO NO NO NO NO, FUCK THE 3DS, FUCK THE 3DS, GO FOR PS3 OR 360... FUCK HAND HELDS THIS NEEDS TO BE ON THE BIG SCREEN AND IN FULL RENDERED GLORY... Pardon, my passion for this "game" borders on insanity AND I WILL SETTLE FOR NOTHING LESS THAN PS3!!! Fucking 3ds gave me a headache when I tried it.

  • Check out an OC Remix of this song, it's amazing.

OC Remix by Dj Bjra - "Lost Forever"

  • This is good driving music

  • This makes me think of flying. :)

  • Sabin

    Locke

    Celes

    Shadow

  • I have to say, this is one of the most powerful video game music pieces I have ever had gratitude to hear. It made me feel so much emotion when the airship rises out of the water, setting sail for adventure and save the world. I will probably never feel emotion like I have from this game again.

  • Always loved this track. Always loved that game.

  • I normally don't like it when a game changes it's world map theme partway through the game, but this is most certainly an exception. :)

  • The first time i heard this music after obtaining Falcon i was thinking, "Wow, this is gonna be my new world map theme..?? SWEET!!"

  • @bwother

Falcon? Isn't that the name of the airship with the drill in FF4/2? I thought this airships name was Blackjack...

  • @darthaeris nah, i'm certain its name was Falcon.. And yeah, the name is exactly the same as that airship with the drill in FF4

  • @bwother

Oh, OK. I just got Relm and Strago in the party so I Don't know everything, but I can't wait to find out.

  • @darthaeris There were two airships in this game: the Blackjack and the Falcon!

  • @darthaeris

Setzer's ship was named Blackjack, but when the world changed he crashed and it was destroyed. The Falcon is the name of his best friend's ship. Play the game again and it will explain it more in depth.

  • @WorldWalker128

When I posted that comment I was still in the WOB. Now I'm WOR, and I know that The Falcon was Deryll's Airship, etc, etc. I'm having fun with the game, it's very deep, I'm glad a picked it up on the virtual console.

  • Best MAP THEME.. errrr... MUSIC EVAH!!!!

  • This song fits its role amazingly: that there is a glimmer of hope even in a world whose life is hanging by a thread. Uematsu absolutely nailed it.

  • Greatest music track in any RPG in the last decade. It makes you feel like the destroyed world has a chance after all.

  • When I try to contact my friends using a social networking site...guess what theme plays in my head. Seriously.

  • When I hear this, scenes from the game start flashing before my eyes

  • i like how kefka actually does what no villain has, destroyed the world!. Thats what makes him better than any villain out there.

  • What's fascinating about that game is that... the villain gets everything he wants before you beat him so... did you REALLY win?

  • @MetaDrano Well you DO beat him at the end of the game so... everybody wins?? :P

  • Nobuo Uematsu is a goddamn musical genius! I have never forgotten the songs he's composed, and I never will... FFVI is easily at the top of the chain

  • Hope.

  • This theme alone makes FF6 worthwhile to play and that's just this theme. The Dark World and other themes just makes FF6 not only a gaming masterpiece but a musical masterpiece.

  • @catboyjeremie Can't forget Decisive Battle, probably the best standard boss theme I've ever heard.

  • I am of the opinion Kefka is one of the GREATEST if not THE GREATEST Final Fantasy villain EVER! Why you may ask? It's Simple Kefka managed to do something no other Final Fantasy Villain managed to do. Destroy and Rule the world.

  • @seth2111 Plus you get to see how some clown with silly one liners who is hated by all nearly succeed (some would say he did, for at least a year anyway). Most memorable villain IMO.

  • this game had two of my fav songs ever this and terra's theme...and i'm not just talking about vgm but all music..The bass guitar on this is just epic

  • I love how this music starts to play once you find the 2nd airship in the game and changes to become the overworld/airship music.

  • @Geckogold I hate that >_<

  • 100% likes, 0 dislikes.

  • these types of SNES songs get ruined when "remastered" it loses its classic charm of the early 1990's, where these games were the pioneers of their future games. remakes always have that "new sound" and new piece of sound that ruins the way the song was. you have to appreciate these masterpiece games, music, and story for being WAY ahead of its time.

  • This theme is enough for this game to be needing a remake.

    This can be sooo remastered.

  • i rebought a SNES and this game just to play it and hear the music and remember part of my childhood.

  • i'm lucky to have played this game...

  • Great song! I just posted my first video a couple days ago. "Best Video Game Music." Check it out if u get a chance.

  • This is in duodecim! :D

  • @ZephyrsSword :D :D :D Yay!!! This is my absolute favourite song in FFVI!

  • Absolute best song in the series.

  • @MezaseMaster I completely agree, I adore this song.

  • @MezaseMaster Mog's theme is the best, sir

  • I don't think FF6 needs a remake. It aged much much better than FF7.

  • @bixxnood If only they hadn't gone for that "interesting" graphic style for FF7 ...

  • @FMagl Think about it: it was being designed for the N64. It would have looked so much nicer on that system, then Nintendo went and fucked everything up.

  • @Kelvinian Just looking at the other two FFs on the PSX, you can see how the characters could have looked better. It's really unfortunate.

  • @bixxnood I am still thinking about getting 7. FF6 is my favorite sn es game. should I get 7? is it better?

  • @awesomeahow Is FFVII better then FFVI? Is that even a question? in fact, is ANY game better than FFVI? But for you, i suggest you should simply torrent the PC version of FFVII and find out. Still worth playing IMO.

  • @awesomeahow FF7 is a rehash of FF6's plot. Just replace "magic" with "mako" and "espers" with "ancients" and there you go. You also see the first of the more annoying mini-games and bonus bosses that have crept into every Final Fantasy since. It's not better.

  • @HitandRyan I disagree. Magic in 6 is something that only gifted people or those who have fought alongside espers can use. In 7, you just go to a store and buy a marble that lets you shoot magic. In 6, Espers are a race of magical creatures driven from their homeland. In 7, Ancients are a long-dead human civilization that was attuned to the voice of the planet. You're free to not like FF7, but its not a rehash of 6, not by a long shot.

  • @DanTheManCalter The minutiae don't matter, in terms of plot devices, they're the same.

  • @HitandRyan I'm not seeing it. How are they the same?

  • @DanTheManCalter Both fulfill the exact same role in driving the plot. You're not seeing the big picture.

What's more, materia just didn't make sense. Why bother with giant mako reactors for power generation when you can buy a "Thunder" materia for dirt cheap in a slum and get free electricity?

  • @bixxnood It could use a port. Ports are nice. Doesn't need updated, just needs copied over. (and mayyyyyybe some bug fixes.)

  • @bixxnood It would be cool to play through it in 3D though :P

  • @bixxnood

Yes but since Squenix is in the mood for remakes so might as well. They have made 2 feeble attempts so far. It needs a real remake, nothing recycled or emulated. Many fans want to see what a classic looks like with modern hardware.

  • Final Fantasies 1-6 need to be remade they were brillant but I would love to see them on a 360 or Ps3 platform. I would give my left nut to square enix to remake them. I mean who wouldn't want to play the first final fantasy with some actual characters? My only gripe with FF1 was "ok you have four people GO SAVE THE WORLD" with no story for the characters.

  • @DanMarik Yeah # 1 wasn't too great but hey

the first usually isn't.. so much :P

  • ff 36(3 Us and 6 in jap). Doing street fighter moves to do Sabins specials, don't forget 2 wait for the ninja b4 you jump, so you can get the random ninja dog attacks. Awesome soundtrack after 9 this is my fav

  • This reminds me of grinding in Dinosaur Forest and searching for DoomGaze.

  • @nastynate3163 One good way to prepare for the Dinosaur Forest is to fight the TumbleWeeds to the immediate right of the forest, they can sometimes give over 10 000 EXP. =D

  • @nastynate3163 good memories

  • The beauty of this track is that it manages to capture the feeling of *just barely* having a chance.

It always feels like it's starting to become merry, but you feel a strange sorrow ever present in the melody.

  • FF3/6 definitely is the peak of video game music. It's right at the height of 16-bit music, before they could just transfer 'real life' music directly to a ps1 disc. These have to be truly original.

  • This song nicely captures the feeling of pursuing hope in what seems to be a ruined world, especially since you've found a few of your friends, have a few leads on where to find the rest, found an airship and are getting stronger than ever in preparation for taking down Kefka.

  • The producers of this game made it difficult in general but they gave you a chance to wear down the difficulty by allowing a few loopholes. How ? Well, one way is leveling up Celes to 99 before heading for the Floating Continent; when meeting up with your friends later, they're all at Level 99. However, that didn't necessarily make the game easy. All it did was make it less difficult, letting you know that the characters can tolerate extra beatings before having to heal up again.

  • @BreastsInspector Basically, the World of Ruin wasn't all that tough, it was mainly Kefka's Tower that was insanely difficult IF the characters wouldn't be leveled up enough. To finalize this, the producers were pretty well telling us, "If you want Kefka's Tower to be simpler, you better work your motherfuckin' ass off beforehand."

  • @BreastsInspector Conclusion: No other RPG is as difficult as Final Fantasy VI because most other RPGs are very straight-forward and don't require much effort at all. Final Fantasy VI told us the meaning of difficult RPG, and on top of that, before every major quest, we had to do grinding. Other RPGs don't have us doing nearly as much.

  • @BreastsInspector Really? Play Baten Kaitos Origins for the game cube.

  • This beauty of Music really had people, who played the game, become pumped and ready to take on Kefka again.

  • Quite possibly my favorite track from any video game.

  • i can see locke giving a heroic speech while this song is playing " Ok guys the odds are stacked against us. the world has gone to shit, almost all our friends are dead, kefka is a god, WE ARE FUCKED !!! don't let that stop us, DON'T forget what we are fighting for, the espers who perished try to stop kefka. that general Leo guy who had courage to do what right when it counted, the returners, out gunned, out numbered, fought against all odds. AND DAMN IT SO WE CANT STOP FIGHTING AND GO HOME.

  • Only Chrono Trigger had a better soundtrack on the SNES. Only FF7 has a better soundtrack in the Final Fantasy series, with 6 taking a slight edge over FF8.

  • This video had an epic opening crawl to it. Like a person opening their eyes to this song. Epic, completely epic, that is all i have to say. =D

  • BEST Final Fantasy SONg ever, Best game EVER always will be

    Carmine

    Edmonton Canada

  • It's rather funny how games like this, which are almost as old as I am, almost always have better soundtracks than modern games. It's a shame they don't make RPGs like this anymore, I was born too late...

Regardless, this song is one of the best I've ever heard in a video game. Epicness.

  • @Cairnth

Im with you on this, ive played FFVI(FFIII) back in the days and no soundtrack except for the suikoden series has been better than this

  • @Cairnth its a good thing you can get it on PSN as a ps 1 classic ^^

  • @Cairnth I grew up playing these games. :D

  • I got teary eyed the first time I heard this when I was a kid as at the time I was expecting to just hear Setzer's airship theme again. I was so blown away by this back then and I still sometimes get a little teary eyed when the Falcon comes up out of the water.

  • I know. This song is very emotional and hope inspiring even now to this day. It really touches the soul.

  • I get goosebumps whenever I listen to this song, because it's so good....

  • I still get chills when I listen to this song,

When I used to play FF i usualy try to play at a fast pace, when I heard this song, I would slow down just so I could hear this song play ... then I would kick ass.

  • You know what the problem is? Square Enix. Two big names came together and did nothing of merit. These were the RPG GIANTS unparalleled and now we get a tower defense game as DLC. I don't know what went wrong, I really don't. TWO great companies....

  • i used to really admire zelda ocarina of time for its child world/adult world... but when you see how low things are a year after celes' coma and this just comes on unexpectedly.... well, hope is an understatement :)

  • Awesome ;D

  • The SNES sure was capable of some amazing sound effects.

  • It sure was. I could never forget how great the SNES was back in those days.

  • You gonna die clown (kefka).

  • Damn se refusing to bring back world maps, that's why ff gone downhill (and pilotable airship and too happy).

  • You think the downfall of a company is due to the fact they left out a big map that a tiny character walks around on? So by your logic, if Final Fantasy 12 had a world map the game wouldn't be painfully boring?

Square sucks because technology surpassed their business model. Classic Japanese RPG's just aren't the big thing anymore. Square couldn't change, but the rest of the industry did. That's why they're leaking money.

  • Doesn't help they don't bother focusing on anything but Final Fantasy.

  • I was flying on the falcon for about 5 minutes hearing this song... ...when a Doom Gaze suddenly appeared and killed my whole party with a Doom L5 spell... WTF?

  • LoL EPIC AIRSHIP FAIL. :D

  • Doom gaze is an asshole....................

  • I know, but if you keep attacking him in about five battles with powerful spells you should have no problem blowing the shit out of it

  • What key is this in?

  • I remember purposly just sitting in one spot on the map so i could fall alseep to the beautiful song. but then id wake up to notice my snes froze up

  • Ah, the memories...

  • *wistles along with a wonderous song*

What a theme:) My FF6 playthrough gained more then a few hours due to me just listening to this:)

  • Such an awesome song. :)

  • this game was really the best...... the music, the story, the secrets.... AWESOME! By the way, did u guys get all the chars without cheat?

  • soo much better then the gba i mean omg!!!!

i luved the song on gba but this is just..incredible!!!!!

  • This song depresses me so much. It makes me think of sunsets and the past deaths of people and pets that I loved. :(

It's sad yet beautiful. This song touches me the most out of all video game songs.

  • When the Falcon lifted out of the water and this song started playing... I got chills :D

  • Me too...

  • they messed this up in gba. it;s sooooo good on snes i always have second thourghts with terras theme with this song.

  • YEAH! Searching For Friends and Terra's Theme are the best..... good thing they play on the World!

  • This is one of the best songs in the game.

  • FFVI is God Tier compared to the other final fantasys. The fine art of story telling and incredible music perfected!

  • You're right on the money.

  • This is actually a pretty sad melody, but somehow it still sounds happy.

I think that's one of the secrets behind Nobuo Uematsu's legendary status - he mixes happy and sad feelings in his songs.

  • It makes sense for this song - the world has been destroyed for the most part, yet there's still hope. Perfect blend, perfect atmosphere.

  • It's the theme of hope, I must say.

  • @FFVImaster You have the best account name ever.

  • Yes this is the best I think 10times better than theX-2 project..

  • Yes this is the best I think 10times better than theX-2 project.

  • And people say FFVII is the one that needs to be remade? No no no, VI IS THE BEST FINAL FANTASY!

  • HELL YA! Final Fantasy VI IS the best in the series

  • I've never understood people who say that FFVII is the best FF. FFVI blows it out of the water.

  • Oh so true, FFVI was one of the best RPGs on the SNES, and my possibly personal favorite RPG ever.

  • @Cirvantes123 "Stop liking what I don't like hurdurr"

FFIX fan here. People are allowed to think what they damn want.

  • @AlastorGX i agree 100% with you on this topic we should like them all even if some suck.

    FFII fan here.

  • @TheStarky34 I don't like FFII, but I won't be a dick and go HUR HUR I DUNNO WHY YOU LIKE IT. I hate people like that.

  • @AlastorGX Amen brother i mean im not to happy about FFX but im not bashing on it because it's not FFII

  • @JScharnikow you're absolutely correct. FF6 is by far the best FF I have ever played..

  • @JScharnikow If they remake this game then they had better keep the original charm intact, and not remove all witty Woolsey translations in favour of boring "correct" super-literal translations.

You don't touch lines like the "look like a waiter" and "son of a submariner".

  • @Laurelindo Wasn't that Bartz quotes? Maybe Im wrong. Their both my favorite games so I could be.

  • @JScharnikow No FF needs to be remade, because they are already fantastic.

  • @JScharnikow I'm glad I;m not alone in thinking this. I played VI long before VII came out, and I loved every second of it. It had a huge impact on my childhood XD

  • @JScharnikow

This is the master piece of FF and i would be very happy if Squaresoft make a remake

but really its very hard this game dont loose their charm in 3D graphics of today

  • I still play in my modified PSP ^_^

  • @JScharnikow Well Personally I don't want V to be forgotten I say we remake it first since we already made III and IV.

  • @JScharnikow But 6 already had a remake. It's 7's turn.

  • @shujinco2 WTF are you talking about? What remake?

  • @KendallHartz Remade for the GBA. It was actually more like a port though, with some extra stuff.

  • @shujinco2 Wow, okay so if FF7 got a remake that looked pretty much exactly the same with just a few 'extra things' added to it, would you be satisfied? I want a FF6 remake with awesome graphics, good voice acting, etc.

I'm sick to death of FF7 getting all this attention and fame and the other FF's getting jack didily because they were just as good if not more so.

  • @shujinco2 VII had a remake too -- see the PC version for further reference. Better character models! Bwahahahahahahaha~

  • @AngelofSatire >Playstation

    >I have a PS2 now

JUST TELL ME THEY DIDN'T FUCK WITH THE MUSIC!

  • @JScharnikow Point, Final Fantasy VI doesnt need to be remade it is perfect right as it is

  • @elmerion Then it needs to be released back on Wii, dude!

  • @searchin4hentai Agreed, It is going to be released on the VC eventually along with the rest of the NES, SNES FF games

  • @JScharnikow VII does need a remake. It was flawed, poorly translated. 6 was perfect. Why remake a masterpiece? Well, other than to milk more dinero from it.

  • @dRevan64 VII needs a remake, ff6 is too good (it's more than just a game). The only other ff that I loved was FFX

  • この音楽は、RPGの中でも名曲です!!。(This is one of the good RPG's music)

    もはや、芸術の世界です!!(This is art. Too cool!!)

作曲者は天才だ!!(I think Nobuo Uematsu is genius.)

  • IMO Nobuo Uematsu's best work is in Final Fantasy VI, just play through the game once and you'll see why.

  • This theme would first be played when the falcon came up from under the water. This was the turning point in the game where the linearity ended and the power up phase began as you got ready for Kefka.

  • "Mr. Thou! Mr. Thou!"

  • Gau's cutscenes were legendary.

  • Nobuo Uematsu... you god.

  • I felt better about traversing the world map when I heard this.

  • One of the best theme songs in the game.....

  • i enjoyed this song and i was kinda puzzled why it was playing when the world got destroyed.....

i was five years old when i played this and i always enjoyed this theme.

    final fantasy has amazing soundtracks!

  • .................... i hate this!!! pure beuty!! i started crying, and now, i got water all over my emo make up... cuz of this cursed song, im not gonna commit suicide now.... grr....

  • rofl

  • I got pissed off at celes. she was an annoying character. I renamed her "Donkey." It was a cruel, cruel joke to be left alone in the world with Cid - admittedly cool, but dying - and an ass.

  • Searching day and night Celes searches everywhere for her frinds as she leaves Cid to rest in piece knowing if she kept moving forward she'd find them. To bad after she found every one they were alittle surprised when all she was worried about was Locke.

  • W... WHa... WHAAAT?!

You left Cid to die while you could save him?

you son of a b****! Bwaahh '(credit to Familyguy)

No, i'm just kidding I didn't know how to save Cid either at first.

  • The first time I played FF3 when I was like 7, I was so depressed after the world got ruined and Celes is wallowing on the island with Cid dying. Then you started searching for all your friends and get the airship. This song was so soothing. It made me feel like there was hope again! Brilliant Soundtrack!

  • +1 ^^

  • yeah, me too...

I was 15 when I first played it...

it was hard not to feel for Celes

I mean what would YOU do if the entire world was destroyed?

I'd lose my mind, but this song is inspiring and gives you a reason to fight for hope in a dark world :]

  • ROFL

    Me too!

Especially if it's ruled by a Clown

  • @Atmaboy EPIC TRUTH
