One thing I was disappointed about this game is that it didn't have free-skate mode. Were you get to pick your own pro skater and skate around the city. They did have two player mode, But I think you have to pick through levels. You couldn't free roam. I still liked the game though.

@Harvy355 In story mode, you can create your own skater. You can customize with hats, shirts, accessories, etc. This game really isn't that bad as people say it is. It did have it's flawls, but It was more of a step foward to Tony Hawk games then a step back. I think if they continued with this engine and form of Tony Hawk, It could have gotten a lot better and back in the lead with the Skate series.

In my opinion, Skate and Skate 2 are great games, but I prefer THPS1-THUG2

But I also prefer the Skate series over the newer Tony Hawk games (Project 8-Ride)

Why people are arguing about these games I don't know. and some of these arguments are probably based on the newer Tony Hawk games and not the other ones. It's pretty hard to compare 2 completely different games. Just let the fans have their fun,

Tony Hawks pro Skater 4 was the last one which was really good. American Wasteland and Underground 2 just sucked and Project 8 was ok but not just nearly perfectly. And Proving Ground doesn't seem to be much better, plus there is this strange camera-view like in EA's Skate.
