  • 5:03....how often do you see that in film today....and when you do see it its not as effective as it is here....a no budget seven minute long short film about a living dummy can entertain me more than most three hour flicks of today...thats saying something folks!!!

  • The sound design is excellent.

  • This Horror film making 101, awesome short film

  • The wind is a nice touch.

  • This gave me nightmares for about 5 years as a child. For the longest time I thought I imagined it! Thanks for the (bad) memories, lol!

  • Awesome, very creepy!!

  • This scared the shit out of me when I was a kid!

  • that waz awesome cool

  • Holy crap how the hell did you even find this?????? I remember watching this on Saturday Nightmares. In fact, I remember watching Saturday Nightmares all the time, but the only specific thing I remember is this because it scared the hell out of me. I'm honestly still scared of dummys because of this movie! I even told my wife about it, and she didn't believe me. Now she's gonna have to watch it too!

  • That was really, really terrifying!!! Something about it being mostly quite too except for the wind and the music made it that much more frightening!

  • wow the camera crew for this film was really good!

  • Omg this is awsome and really creepy

  • wow

  • thumbs up if 5;03 made you jump a bit :)

  • Epic

  • scary

  • Awesome you have to love 80s films

  • Just watched this 10 thirty in the morning and was stil shiting my self with my dressing down pulled over my head and peeking a looked every 5seconds. LMAO, this was so creepyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy! i like fanny btw.

  • man...this scarred the piss out of me when i was a kid! just too damn creppy; i hate dolls bc of this

  • I remember this from UP All Night with Rhonda Shear. Man this still creeps me out.

  • Yo this is some freaky deaky shit right here

  • CREEPY

  • i remember this lol

  • This sent shivers down my spine!

  • creepy.

  • This, along with Magic and Making Contact, gave me many bad dreams as a kid.

  • I love the low budget horror movies. They always seem scarier than all the big budget, lots of special affects type movies.

    This was awesome! :)

  • I recently made a short horror film and I wish I'd watched this first, for inspiration/ideas. That part where the doll is peeking under the door gave me the creeps. Its simple, but it works.

  • O_O I WAS HOLDING MY DOG THE WHOLE TIME O_O UNTIL SHE BIT ME D;<

  • I remember this one and the guy building the rat trap to off himself.

  • thats okay. i didnt need to sleep tonight anyway

  • that peeking under the door scene was pretty clever i admit, but really, it's her fault. you know you are never supposed to take a curtain shower in an 80's horror film. nothing good every comes from it. LOL

  • I remember watching this film when I was a child with my mother...I credit her for desensitizing me to bad horror films. I still have visions of that dummy peaking under the door and his little dummy feet walking down the hallway. Thanks for posting this!!!

  • Excellent!

  • I remember this from my early childhood. I was maybe 6. VREEPY! Can't believe it's been that long.

  • Very well done.

  • Freaky freaky freaky

  • I remember watching this is the 80s and being absolutely horrified! I was only 6, but, over 25 years later, I can't forget about that knife in the back of the knee!

  • I love this movie!

  • very good job guys!!! gratz!!!

  • Omg this was sooo creepy and fantastic!! really liked it! (:

  • If you have deadbolts and a chain lock, you should probably practice unlocking them on a regular basis.

Thanks for the upload, totally remember this! Scared the crap out of me as a kid.

  • that was so cool

  • In my opinion dummies are WAY scarier than dolls like Chucky (8O

  • Awesome!

  • This short used to scare the crap out of me when I was a kid.

  • you guys think maybe Dead silence was based off this

  • you know that this is all fake, and in reality, you know there is a guy behind the wall and next to the bed propping the dolll up to make it look like he is alive and peering over. Still, with that music and atmosphere, you can help but be creeped out! I remember this from when I was a kid and it is still creepy to me today!

  • I'm another who remembers this short from so many years ago. Definitely the simplicity and the eerie music are still just as effective! Just watched it again for the 50th time in my life and I still got the chills!

  • WOOOOAAAAAAAHHHHH

    Shcare me tew death.

  • 9/10 is my rating

  • i used to watch this every time i was able! i even had my dad wake me up in the middle of the night so i could see it!

  • Simplicity is a powerful tool in horror. Look at Halloween, theres a barely a plot, with a tiny budget but extremely effective. Same applies here. The fact theres no explanation to it makes it more tense, as once one develops a back story, it can get too silly and less beliavable making it less scary. Halloween and this seem very real.

Oh and outstanding music, perfect for a horror film. Just perfect.

  • @MegaCastigers You are absolutely right. The simpler it is the scarier it is to me,

  • you have to admit it is really scary

when the body rises up at the end

  • wow epic short story i remember this from when i was a kid im 31 now and this still creeps me out and it goes to show that you don't need all these special effects and cgi to scare people ..... now days its so hard to scare anyone but using techniques like this will always work.... just something about dolls and puppets that have always gave me chills and most people would agree

  • The music is, absolutely, amazing and the howling wind in the backround is perfect. It really adds to the tension and suspense of the short. It's brilliance is in it's simplicity. This shows you don't need special effects to make a great, scary film.

I, also, always thought the chick in this short had a great pair of legs, and that hasn't changed lol.

  • I love reading these comments because I'm right there with everybody. I remember seeing this on The USA Network back in the 80's, after movies on Saturday Nightmares or Commander USA.

The 80's were such a glorious time for horror films, shows, and shorts. I miss these days in the worst way

Seeing this again brings back great memories. This scared the shit out of mwe when I first saw it, but then I couldn't wait to see it again

I always hoped the movies on USA finished early so this would play

  • @GialloHorror I too remember the glory days of when USA Network ruled with programming including USA UP ALL NIGHT! I loved watching Commander USA! He was awesome! I am trying to get USA UP ALL NIGHT back on USA Network once again! Google the website that I created called usaupallnight and check it out! Trust me you will love it guy!

  • Thanks for posting this!

  • @starstuckfromthetop A writer actually! I have a evil mannequin novel in the pipeline

  • i cant belive my mother allowed me to watch this when i was little. the scariest part is when she looks under the door in the bedroom and he's looking right back at her. i'm still scared to this day of dummies.

  • I remember seeing this on SyFy back when the channel didn't suck. Used to scare the crap out of me.

  • This is the reason I don't like puppets! and I'm 34 now...lol

  • If I wrote this, I would have purposefully not shown the couple's faces until the end when it;s shown they have doll faces too!!!

  • Scared the crap out of me in the 80s...LOVE it now. Miss when horror movies actually had ELEMENT instead of just blood and gore!

  • @80sfanatik well its our fault we let the new decades over run us with movies starringteeny boppers,.....eeewwww

  • I remember this, and it scared the living crap outta me!! I mean, you've got Magic, but it's the whole "crazy ventriloquist THINKS his dummy is alive" thing. THIS? This evil little bastard will KILL YOUR ASS!! lol

Thanks so much for finding this and posting it!! Been looking for it for a long time.

  • man I Miss The 80s!! True scary Stuff Back then!! Now T.v. is Boring!!

  • This film scared the crap out of me as kid!

I don't think i ever had a doll in my room after watching this. It's just so simple, but creepy as hell!

  • Looking under the door ... Unspeakably creepy.

  • Hey thanks for putting this up... I remember this from the USA network from back in the day and it did its number on me growing up lol...Thanks
