Inspired ! I was also a bad student growing up, although coming from a good family background. Somehow, I always knew I was going to end up in medical school, no matter how much problems I encountered, sure enough. Entered med school at 26, a bit older than my classmates. Anything can happen, just find a way that will.

We should look up to people like him who have a goal of helping humanity instead of celebrities. He had a vision, pursued it, and became one of the best in his field. We need more people like him!

I believe his mother was behind everything, she was smart to build her child in a smart way..what i believe from this movie that his mom had a bad husband a cheater, and she fell in love with a very important genius profession who loved her and her children..the seen in movie they show you that professor helping him in college...But the boy did have great hardware and he used it...his mother was the full support..

I read his book "Gifted Hands" last year and seeing how he came from a broken home in the inner city and became such a successful man drastically changed my view on life. Dr. Carson is an amazing person and he's one of my heroes.
