  • I lived in both 1970 and 1980 and I'll tell you that my 1980 NEVER looked like that....lol

  • Gabrielle Drake is hot!

  • This brings back such fond memories for me. My dad was in the army and we moved to Germany in 1987 when I was 10. We had an European cable service where we got a lot of UK channels. One of the channels had a Gerry Anderson block every Saturday morning where they showed all of his shows. Good times!

  • that was a wonderful time back then , sci-fi was everywhere . i hope that the props used in the series like the real cars they drove and ofcourse the miniatures are in a museum.

  • Always loved the theme song to this series...very late 60s/early 70's groovy tune...The series needs a relaunch IMHO

  • @thedangernation Groovy baby, Groovy!

  • Comment removed

  • Cosmos was awesome too....

  • In the UK, didn't the show run as two thirteen-episode seasons in the Fall of 1970 and the Fall of 1971??

  • I wander if the writers were inspired by real cases of misterious catle mutilations.

  • @sFT3wINm09 Actually its said that he was trying for a live actor style of his earlier puppet show "Captain Scarlet" story line

  • Great series, bu proof positive that Sylvia Anderson should never be allowed to design wardrobes for TV shows, let alone real life.

  • Maybe...the greatest...thing...i've ever.....seen...ever

  • dig the music baby!!! yeahhhh!!

  • Yes, we know. The show is set in 1980...

  • DON'T HURT THE BIKE OR THE CAR!!!! ARRRGH!

  • I want to be a shado agent so bad....you had me at purple haired women.

  • 6:24 Bessie?

  • "Dont panic, Alec"!

  • Maybe the best intro and musíc of a TV-show ever - so good.

  • women were much better looking then. now they all look the same, skinny, plastic, perfect teeth, chemical boobs, puffy lips, expressionless paralysed faces.

  • @kookoopops1 I don't. That would be like me saying that all guys now are bald shaven heads, covered in tattoos and have hardware stuck in their faces. t works both ways, you know.

  • @FaerieCrone me neither and yes the men too, without the boobs.

  • Why did the likes of Gery Anderson assume that fashion wouldn't change between 1969 and 1980?

  • @truekiwijoker brainwashed by Paco Rabanne and his 'futuristic' idea of fashion? lol

  • LOL@1:08 it looks like a big Bud can attached to that vehicle

  • Man the chickies in this series, are smoke'in!

That short brunette at HQ is, gggrrrrrr.

    Hubba, hubba!

  • Damn i remember the seabease chik as a hotty, not a brownie den mother. Other than that its all right then

  • I wish I worked in an office like that. Camel toe delight

  • Brilliant!

  • Gerry andersons work was fantastic ! he was way ahead of his time thanks gerry for making my childhood magical!

  • I was ten years old when this was first shown but even at that age i found the women hot!

women back then seemed to ouzz sex apeal not thrown at you like it is today theres notthing left to the imagination! most of the fun is in opening a gift instead of it being given to you unwrapped! ufo there was nothing like it on tv and its stood the test of time!

  • I figured out that miniskirts and girls were worth noticing after watching re-runs of this when I was young. The cars and gadgets were cool, but I was of the right age to start noticing the ladies. Purple wigs rock :)

  • I hope those inter=changeable cloths doesn't mean they never change their underwear on the moon... Or perhaps they live in a sterile environment without bacteria... and Sterility would be the only way to have fun stuck on the moon...

  • So all the women on the moon have purple hair and big hoots? Cool!

  • What's with the 1980 constantly popping up?

  • Amazing, I watched this show when I was 9, and almost all the British shows after that beat american tv, hands down, like Dr. Who and the new Dr. Who and Life on Mars, american tv attempted a version of that show, It sucked!!

  • Real women back then!! Wow!!

THX, THX, THX to toobeaucoups absolutely great!!!

  • 12.50secs ; Don't you just love the perfect english and very posh accents !

  • I would like for them to bring this show back....Hugh Jackman would be a great Ed Straker................

  • @3bluebird72 Nah, can't bring this show back ; re-makes are crap. I remember this in the early 70s ; it was supposed to be 1980, Lol

  • @3bluebird72 Garrry Anderson try to bring this show back in the 1990,s. It was to be a sequal to the orignal with next gen of Shado. He Could not raise the money.

  • Still my fav sci fi series

  • love it

  • Max nostalgia!! Thanx, Gerry... Next stop: Lunar Base Alpha XD

  • How can we lose to the aliens. How hard would it be to hit a road.

  • he's a rubbish shot - every one missed the road !

  • " Do you think this could be it Lt ? looks like it Lou." .......lol

  • Loved this show as a kid (even though it's so cheesy now, it's still watchable). The whiners about the upcoming XCOM game NEED to see this episode, as it shows that they're so wrong-headed about bashing the new game for being a shooter. Hell, the episode OPENS as one (complete with a FPS viewpoint).

  • Nice series, love the old technology. Do you know what type of business airplane is that?

  • Nothing like spandex on our fellow Female Employees; to allow us concentrate on our duties at hand, Wha? He He

  • with hollywood lacking any decent scripts surely this would be ideal for a big screen production

  • @MickeyLove01 Jean Claude Van Damme is attach to it now....The film will SUCK. IT IS a dud before the scene is filmed with VAN DAMME....I was hoping for something pretty good..NOW...it will be the Turkey of 2013!!!

  • @UFOSPACE1999 I know that if they build soem actual mobiles I am bidding for one after the film has finished

  • I enjoyed UFO when it first was broadcast in the US. Never bought the strategy though of their running S.H.A.D.O. beneath an active film studio.Simply doesn't make any sense.None of the film studio workers knew about it.That seems like it'd be a lot of hassle keeping those folks in the dark not to mention potential security issues. Also, isn't SHADO putting those same individuals at risk from alien attacks? What about the media which covers studio news? They could blow the secrecy wide open.

  • always wondered why the purple hair on moonbase staff?

  • @jamestripney UFO Creator Gerry Anderson felt that the wigs looked great under the lighting & gave the show a futuristic look to it. His wife,Sylvia, felt that wigs would become very common for women in the future.

  • @theironclads WRONG.!!!! no reason...Sylvia said in one the dvd's...it looked cool. That was it.

  • Respond to this video... AND there are making a movie about UFO....I will say it first here........IT will have in it...Jean Claude Van Damme!!!!! NO HOPE OF BEING GOOD!!!! Yes i said it. This will be a massive FART in space!!!!

  • @theironclads Regardless of the reasons for the purple wigs, the UFO girls could pass for anime cosplayers at just about any con.

  • this is if xcom was in the 80s

  • That is how we all dressed in the eighties.

    Gerry Anderson nailed it.

  • Yes the costumes were cheesy, the effects are weak by today's standard. But when you're 10 years old all you know is the show kicked some major alien butt! lol Plus the girls on Moonbase were easy on the eyes.

  • dude, if you stick to the center of the road you'll be alright, all the explosions are happening on the left or right side of the road.

  • Friday night watching UFO as a kid. Loved it.

  • @MrBantam3 remember it as well...could only get the show on the UHF channels....countless attempts to adjust the coat hanger/aluminum foil/ antenna to get better reception....lol.............was an awesome show for its time...loved it.

  • Hooray!

  • I still find it hard that after Stingray, Thunderbirds and Captain Scarlet Anderson went into live action. Still very good though, thanks for the upload :)

  • aliens with machine guns
