3D on a console is next to impossible since consoles don't have the necessary resources to support it. Plus trying to use 3D on 1280 x 720 will come out pretty darn ugly since that's the resolution consoles can support for most games. And the screen needs to be 120Hz in order for 3D to work and I don't think console video cards can support 120hHz resolutions.

Since you would need to buy another TV just to play 3D games I dont think its a great idea since a lot of people are only starting to buy HDTV's now!

As for backwards compatibility, can Sony please make it that we can play our PS2 and PS1 games again! I want to play Final Fantasy VII and X and Kingdom Hearts!

I heard on a video, and I may have misunderstood, but I heard that Sony would add backwards compatibility (not sure how) to all PS3s so they can play PS2 games.

I know they (probably) can't add the ability to play PS2 discs but the games could be downloaded right?

the 3d, not going to be good, if u remember the hype with the HD DVD player for the 360, that was taken off the market because it could not keep up with blu-ray, plus, no one would go buy sets for 3d, im pretty sure it will very expensive and in this economy, no one would be interested,
