OK, now if the upcoming big-budget version has the wrong coloring or number of legs on the thoat, I'm going to scream bloody murder. You guys got it right back in the late Eighties, early Nineties, and you didn't have a hundred million or more to work with. They will have no excuse.

@SailorBarsoom i have a strong feeling that the thoats are going to be completely inacurate

It just seems like something they wouldnt pay attention to, they have already dismissed the green martian design as being dated (that doesnt make any sense at all, that makes negative amounts of sense)

I have heard rumors they are going to try and cram the first three books into one movie, which makes no sense . . . the only reason that would be done is if they based book content on length god help us

Not sure how the greens can be "dated" when they've never been done. I have heard a lot of people (including artists, who should know better) state categorically that fifteen feet is undoable because it "puts John Carter at fellatio height."

Well yeah, if you assume six foot long legs. That is, if you assume that Tars Tarkas is just a really big guy with extra arms a a weird head. Easy, easy solutions, but no, we have to nerf the Tharks. GGGRRR!!!

Hey, I'm going to check out some more of this "Blue Star Red Sand" stuff. If it's as good as this, I'll be glad I did.

he . . . clearly doesnt know anything about barsoom . . . or anything about the planet

we need all the help we can get if we are going to create a database were artists and writers can go, so when they work on these things they arent in the dark
