i use photoshop 7 and when i want to erase the edges at the eye coloring it says "could not use the eraser because the content of the layer is not directly editable". also,the white circle from the ellipse tool remain in the selected layer. can someone tell me what can i do with this?

for the eyes you must make a dark shadow around the color to appear more realistic

you can do it in many ways, by using the dodge tool, or by using the brush with low transparency, or by making a stroke patch if you can't draw a circle then use low transparency and stroke path, or you can also make a selection then fill in with black, resize it to match the eye, then with a 100 % opacity 50 % hardness erase the middle, so that the pupil can be visible, then adjust the layer transparency and/or the blending mode, but I find dodge to be the best in doing this

This is a perfect example of why I hate some of these videos. Usually when person needs makeup applied digitally, it's because THEY DON'T HAVE ANY ON!!. I hate these vids that use an image of someone that ALREADY HAS MAKEUP ON. This picture has already been touched up. Why not start from an image of someone who has no makeup on to begin with?????

If you want to learn how to touch up on a makeup-less picture that's another tutorial, use the healing brush, if you want to use photo shop to put makeup on a person then... your an idiot!

@maticoff Well being a photpgrapher myself, I always take before shots of the models even with the studio lights and some with regular flash so I can play around in photoshop with skin that has no makeup. I agree, it would be difficult to find hi quality pics (for free) of models with no makeup. If you really want some, get a decent camera and start shooting :)

@neogambro actually, people sometimes dont put on a good enough makeup :D so what wrong with using this to enhance the effect of make up? not everyone is a professional make up artist you know....plus..looking at the original picture of the girl, it is certain that she uses some make up :D so why we dont enhance it? :P on top of that, it is just a tutorial, if you hate it, dont watch :D the fact that you are here proves that you are actually feel somewhat curious and want to use the effect

Its not very good... your instructions are not very clear since the opacity and the flow during the video keep changing constantly in one action, besides i tried to do it and i think your doing something else or not giving every instruction as it dhould be because it turns out to be really different.

There are better tutorials thar are much more clear

The ellipse tool should be under the rectangular marquee tool. Just right click the rectanglur one and other tool options should pop up. Atleast on CS3. Sorry if someone already answered you or something. ^__^

The editing made it look worse. The objective is to make the photo look realistic after retouching the image, not to make it look like some sort of cartoon fantasy. If that was your goal, YOU SUCCEEDED. GREAT TERRIBLE RETOUCHING, WOULD RETOUCH AGAIN A+++++++++++++
