  • They have Tropicana Light & Fit, or I think they changed the name from Light & Fit to something else so you will have to check it out...but it has tons less sugar than regular orange juice...I drink it fine all the time but you just wanna make sure with your nutritionist first before you start drinking it. :o)

  • Great video and answers Sarah. I STILL want to drink with meals -- that was/is the hardest thing--and I did practice before my surgery-- didn't help much. In restaurants I order water just to have something there so the waitress doesn't keep asking me what I want or "are you sure you don't want something?" but I don't drink it. I can drink faster now that I am 5 mos. post-op but in the beginning I had to go very slow with everything.

  • Hey I just found your site. I am 16 months post op and have just started you tubing.

  • Good questions, I'm going to make a video now.

  • I agree with the not being able to drink and eat and chugging drinks,, I miss those things too and have found that very hard to get used to..

    xoxo Becky

  • I only take a sip every three minutes. I take too big of a sip and sometimes feel too bloated but oh well...

  • I'm a "chugger" too. Everytime I chug my water, I think about how I'm not going to be able to do that after surgery... :o(

  • Here here cheers to finding youtube to do research of wls..If it wasn't for yt I wouldn't of ever found such a heartfelt wonderful group that I did, like yourself.. Whom became apart of my family in more ways than 1..Awhh Research my brain backed up on overload for sometime it's all I could think about & loss sleep over, til I disattached myself for awhile, but I can't stay away from youtube for long because withdrawls kick in. Anyways enough of my blahing Great video tag & response..Hugs

  • Hi Sarah, your hair looks sooo cute the way you have it in this video. Anyway Love the video and helps many of us that are pre-op....thanks again

  • OK, so I didn't realize that we weren't supposed to have orange juice???! Is it because of the acidity of it? I actually had some yesterday (very watered down) because my doctor said that any fruit juice was ok as long as it was no sugar added, and watered down about 50/50 for the stage I am in. Do you think I should not drink the OJ?

  • No citrus or acid anything. That includes lemon, tomato, pineapple, orange, grapefruit. Not in juice or as whole fruit. Not even canned fruit.

  • what a great great great video...thank you so much it will help so many people so yes thanks ....love rosemary

  • Oh, good questions! I'll brainstorm and make a vid tonight :)

  • People say that we'll get used to not drinking with our meals. I haven't found that to be the case! I find myself wanting to stop eating just so I can start my 30-minute waiting period to drink! I feel your pain!

  • I understand all your points. I was a gulper, too and actually threw up a few times when I was learning how to drink postop! I felt just like you do about wanting to drink with meals. You will get used to it and not even think about it after a while. It becomes habit. But I remember thinking the hour I couldnt drink was the longest!

  • Hi what agreat video good insight into what you think.I am pre op and I am so with you on the water front, I am a chugger too but I will have to learn.

  • The things u were talkin bout what ud change i totaly agree with. Ive been practicing w/those myself. This tag thing is cool! hopefully its still going after im post op providing some tags me lol!
