The person that played this best was O.B. Manning at St John's Baptist Church, Indpls--- when the pastor Dr Andrew J Brown sung this song. He could tear a church up with this.
greatings from the oldest town in texas, you sound good man i was the local library and almost took up a church offering, lol i had to rember were i was!lol
Were you at Bishop Golder in the 90's? If so, I think I have you playing this song on an old tape. You play this song so well I get tears in my eyes! Bless you!!!
You better have meant 'phat' cuz that's what those chords are brotha! You are the KING of the organ! I heard you play "Thy will be done" and I almost fell off my chair! I currently play at the AME Zion and that number would have them out in the aisles!
What can I say but He is sweet I Know, Thank you for allowing the Lord to use you Sir, to bless me. Some times we for get just how sweet the Lord truly is and has been and will be to us in our every day walk. Don't walk or talk without the Lord. Take time out to praise Him for He is sweet you know. Amen Thank you Lord.
Simply Beautiful Man!!! You went to a new level of anointing at 2:10 and then again at 3:20. This is one of my favorite hymns to hear and to play. I loved your interpretation of the music. You are a master organist!!! Keep up the excellent work!! Awesome!!!
All I had to do was play this video and close my eyes, and could see grandmother, grandfather, and all the others that have laid this foundation. Thank you so much for allowing this sound to transition into the 21st Century generation.
Awesome Bro Ezra.. That is what we a missing the old hymns of the church. When you get around to it can you play for me. Tis so Sweet to Trust in Jesus. Thanks
I have a question that I have always wanted to ask more seasoned pianists/organists as yourself.
I am a beginning learner on the keyboard myself, and pray to be at your level of playing someday. I noticed that every time you started back at the beginning of the song you played it differently each time...is that something you planned to do ahead of time or was this just something that came out naturally as a result of your skill level in different styles of playing?
It just comes naturally from years of playing. -And being around the late great Craig Tyson who played anything differently everytime around just to cut the music boredom! lol Hang in there with God and keep practicing!!!
