@fcvertigo I looked it up so i could post about how awful it is in hopes that the creators of the song would see the comment. seriously if anyone likes this song they are music retarded.
the double sax every other line on the verse reminds me of a Donna Summer track, Love's Unkind and Hit The North by The Fall. Probably lots of other examples but a classic sax riff, well used here, lovely tune, very shortly behind Wizzard and Jonah Lewie and lenno/ono... in terms of best ever cristmas tracks.
This is never included in those boring Christmas Top XXX countdowns they have at this time of year, but how cool and romantic it is! I was always jealous of the way he looked.

Clearly the TOTP2 people didn't do their homework, as Bob Stanley in Saint Etienne was, in fact, born on Xmas Day!

I think its a very good Christmas tune, however anything on repeat in a shop can drive even the best of us over the edge.
Drevilsea 2 years ago
All in all i think this is a pretty good christmas song, considering that nobody can fuckin write a decent crimbo tune anymore.
Takes me back, i was about 16 had my first job in a once great Irish pub.
