@Mbarnardexperience So it was said...but that was just a bit of typical Blackpool Pleasure publicity hype. Like a sign that appeared on various rides over the years stating "Any riders with heart problems must be accompanied by a nurse!" Risible!
this clown survived the old fun house fire, the only thing to survive that fire might i add, and its been in the PB for 75 years. it added to the PB, this clown is basically historical and has an extemely intresting background. the insane laughing clown the only thing to survive, bit strange? however i am pissed its been removed + replaced with a happy clown pfft,
@bigman1992X Actually the bit about it surviving the Fun House fire was a bit of publicity 'hype'. The Laughing Man was positioned OUTSIDE and well away from the front of the Fun House, and had been removed from his case for the winter when the fire occurred! The great Mr.Geoffrey Thompson saw his chance for some wonderful publicity and thus gave out the grave news that the Laughing Man (he isn't a clown) had been lost. He re-appeared the following year outside the Pleasure Beach entrance!
@Wnoronz Geoffrey Thompson thought it was lost but a he later found out a staff member had taken it out for maintenence. The original body and laugh generator were lost however
@ChristopherLynnShow I think it is correct to say that Geoffrey Thompson knew that the entire laughing man (NOT a clown) had been removed for the winter. Always a smart one was Mr. Thompson where a chance for publicity was around! The sound of his original laughter was a recorded voice. There was no such thing as a laugh generator in the 1930s! It's such a shame that the laughing man has been placed where he now is, and his head replaced with something just awful!
The laughing clown has been there since the 1930s when the fun house was there. Which is now valhalah. The clown has been moved around it was at the front of the park by noahs ark then moved under the revolution loop.
they still have a laughing clown there!!!

@ChristopherLynnShow yes but this was 1991, when a generator was put in, not in the 30's.
