Don't want to hang about all day going nowhere, just idling, mate. Potent air-cooled engines really need that life-giving supply of moving cool air wafting constantly over their cooling fins to last any decent length of time. It's a Triumph, not a lawnmower.
that thing looks good, but it's messed up. you need at least a top end job. i doesn't hurt to use premium quality motor oil and install an oil cooler, since they're prone to overheating and wearing out the valve guides.
yeah i just yanked off the mufflers. I didn't attempt to find a place to secure the headers. i just wanted to see how it sounds. I'll probably end up with TT pipes or something else which will properly secure to the bike. As it is, it's not even road worthy right now.
There is no sound like it. It doesn't smoke quite as much once it's good and warm. But i'll admit it needs a good once-over. Also, I'm not sure what "tickover" means. Is that a british thing?
yeh man..!!

I say it all the time, a well built triumph can make more noise than a harley and sound better too...

The old fashend volkswaggon beatle tail pipes worked great; good sound and they gave a good back pressure.

It sure sounds good. I got one of those. I restored 14 years ago. That open pipe sound will get you. Cool...

Tickover would probably be called 'idle' in America, you know what Brits are like for having funny words for things!
