It's just a sign of the times and how fragile the economy is. You can't do with without sufficient sponsorship and sadly it has bitten Franchitti, Ganassi, and the 70 workers of that team.
Strange to see Ganassi do so well in the IRL and the Rolex Sports Car Series, and to struggle in NASCAR like he has. Things have just not been the same over there since Sterling Marlin was shown the door, probably even earlier after Sterling's 2002 injury at Kansas.
Chip, in my opinion, needs to focus more, and not try to do so much....he's got good guys in nascar, and there's absolutely no reason those teams aren't running stronger....
glad to be back....thanks....chip has been an enigma in nascar, in his six years....i think he's too wide-spread, trying to hard to be like roger penske....which i also think may be penske's problem. i mean how can two top-notch real racers, so successful elsewhere, be such problems in nascar?

I know it's early, but it looks like 2009 is going to be one hell of a NASCAR season now!
