  • Neal is truly one of thegreatest guitar players of all time.

  • all those plexi hand wired marshall oh my 1959 spl

  • You complained in a prior post about me understanding sound logic. Do you call the last two points sound logic ? LOL. Name calling and profanity, that is all you have. You are losing this debate. The "Eagles" have two guitarists better than Schon- Joe Walsh and Don Felder- They have created more memorable riffs than Schon. I still think the declarations by you that Schon is best all-round is just funny as hell.

  • @GOODY61 Bwhahaha! Jeez, you're just amazingly screwed up, aren't ya? What?! Walsh and Felder better than Schon? You really mean that? Wow, you've outdone yourself! Hey do me a favor, old man. Why don't you write those dudes and ask them if they think they're better than Schon? I think you've been in that nursing home a little too long to have kept up with all the musicians after the days of all the dead dinosaurs of rock music. It's now time for you to move onto a cave to be buried with them.

  • @GOODY61 Hey, dude. You REALLY made me laugh HARD with what you barked. Actually, you really made the whole world laugh aloud when you mentioned the name Felder for one of the best. You know what? I'd make you an online friend just to have some real laughs, but unfortunately you and I are worlds apart in class and taste. lol. Let me know when you have your head screwed back in. hahahaha!!! You're just HILARIOUS!!!

  • @GOODY61 Hey, btw, come to think of it, Felder might be just a little better than Walsh, and Walsh might be a little more sober than you. LMAO!!!

  • @6PERRYFAN4 Hey man , Walsh has to be sober nowadays to use that Flanger effect on Life in the Fast Lane. LOL.

  • @GOODY61 Yeah, but he's keeping his beer belly for good. LOL!!!

  • @GOODY61 i can't believe you evaluate guitarists with such shallow knowledge. if you can't appreciate the virtuosity of neal schon, then you're not even qualified to talk about guitarists in general. he's one of the most influential guitarists of the post-clapton, page, beck era. do dome research before you talk nonsense.

  • @GOODY61 as a guitar instructor with over three decades of experience, i can tell you this much. schon's playing is one of the most difficult to teach because of its complex cords and delicate touches. tasteful shredding is a legit technique as well. it takes a highly skilled guitarist to be able to do what schon does here. schon ranks among the very best, and he's one of the most revered in the business.

  • There's no other guitarist who can play so well in between the beats and stop-and-transition like this guy. He's been born as a guitar god!!! Truly amazing!!!

  • Neal Schon, a very underrated guitarist? Maybe, because he was overshadowed by an ultra dominant and one of the all time best vocalists named, Steve Perry, during his years with Journey. But as Perry himself acknowledged a few years ago, nobody plays the guitar quite like this guy. In my humble opinion, he might be the best all around guitarist ever. He's got the tone, touch, feel, technique and emotional intensity that penetrate your heartstrings like no other guitarists in the world.

  • @GOODY61 LOL!!! Way too much shredding? You live in the 19th century or something? These days, all of elite guitarists apply shredding skills as their regimen. Actually, guys like Eddie Van Halen has made his stardom based on it. I think Neal Schon utilizes shredding very tastefully because he's got such great tone to go with it. And you know what? He certainly doesn't need to be taken seriously by you, because he definitely is by his prominent peers in the guitar world.

  • @GOODY61 What?! Slash, melodic? LMAO!!! Now, THAT is indeed laughable. Obviously, you haven't followed the careers of these guys enough, because Schon has made his career mostly on 'melodic' playing, including all the solos with Journey's power ballads. You'd be well advised to check out his wide ranged material before making any assessment. And yes, Schon IS one of the all time greats along with all those guys you mentioned. Ask folks in the know. Clapton tried to draft him when he was just 16.

  • @GOODY61 Again, you're still talking about that one show. You're one dimensional, and he's MULTIdimensional. It's unfortunate there are boneheaded ones like you that are so obsessed who's number one or in top 10 in the music. Nobody among the elite guitarists claims they're number one in the world because they know it's just plain stupid to say that. Obviously, you can't reason with such notion, and you're the one that's biased. Btw, what would be the meaning of being in YOUR top 10? lol.

  • @GOODY61 Andre Segovia, is that you? R.I.P..

  • @6PERRYFAN4 Pardon ?

  • @GOODY61 ROFLMAO!!! You sh*thole was here, too, remember? Yeah, that was before you "stalked" me into another thread in which you've been barking crap. Hey, what a f'g list you got there!!! What the f'k is the matter, you bunghole? How come you're not on the list? On second thought, I think you dig the dead guys. I bet you fantasize being in bed with them. LMAO!!! What?! You're going to outlast me? OK, go ahead and see how it goes. We'll see about that, won't we? Make sure you keep up!!! LOL!!!

  • @6PERRYFAN4 Two Schon videos that reference each other. I wouldn't call that stalking. I take it back about how you should be on Schon's payroll, if they looked at the profanity and name-calling you have posted on this video, they probably wouldn't want to be in the same state your are in.

  • @GOODY61 Shit, retard. Can you at least come up with something new? You used those vocabularies and sentences at least a dozen f'g times already. Are ya trying to wear me down by being f'g boring as hell or something? LMAO!!! No, it ain't working, a-hole. Hey, btw, you appear to have some sort of illness that craves literary punishment. Well, that's great, because I really enjoy giving it to the psycho morons like you. Yeah, I'll give it to ya real good. Just ask for it, and you'll have it. hehe

  • Comment removed

  • @6PERRYFAN4 I see that your using the same profanity and name calling on your videos, can't you think of something original yourself. I will give you some facts and opinions I know you will like after your next post,

  • @GOODY61 Wow, you think you're pretty normal, don't ya? hahaha!!! I'll tell ya. You definitely are one of the weirdest sickos I ever encountered. Your f'g problem is you're a sheep that follows all the polls and opinions that are established by others, which means you can't quite think for yourself. Listen, you pinhead. It's good to think for yourself and stick to what you believe, instead of going with the flow. But then, you don't even know what the flow leads you to. Slap your own face. LMAO!

  • @GOODY61 What?! No one can upstage Rodgers talent during one of his concerts?lol There's only one thing you know how to do, and it's to crack me up real hard. What, is Rodgers a deity or something? Hey listen, you piece of doggy dropping. Schon played with many great vocalists other than Rodgers. He has been the lead guitarist for Journey all throughout his career, he was in the band called HSAS with Sammy Hagar, and he also played for Michael Bolton. And he can upstage ANYONE. Hell, yes!!! LMAO

  • @6PERRYFAN4 I'll repeat it again since you seem to be a little slow understanding the English language. No one has ever upstaged Rodgers in concert. When he performs , he is the focal point in the concert and everyone damn well knows it by the end of the night. Now the difference between me and you is I will not make the claim Rodgers is best all-time. He is one of the best Rock-Blues singers who has came out of the UK.

  • @6PERRYFAN4 Let me make it a little clearer for you. When the concert is over , the crowd is not talking about how good the guitar players is, they are talking about Rodgers and how he commanded the show.

  • @6PERRYFAN4 I would compare Neil Schon with the Super Bowl performance of Christine Aguilara (sp) ? a week ago. Loud, screeching and out of key. She oversang just like Neil Schon overplays. LOL.

  • @GOODY61 It seems obvious you feel that you're totally overwhelmed by my sound logic and reason, because you're compelled to write three to four f'g replies each time I write just one. LOL Hey, I gotta ask you this. How long have you been staying in the nursing home you are writing from these days? I know that you're senile, but it's clear you've been out of touch for a long time. Schon is the guitarist for Journey, which has sold over 85 million records. You sold more than that, right? LMAO!!!

  • @6PERRYFAN4 No, I haven't sold the first record but what does that have to do when evaluating Schon as best all-time. I'm just a classic rock fan, How many records have you sold ? Your points against me are not logical, I can throw the same question back at you so it's a silly question. By the way , I would take a guess that most classic rock fans would believe Lynyrd Skynrd had 4 guitarists who were better than Schon. They are Rossington, Collins , Gaines and Ed King. Your losing.

  • @GOODY61 What a f'g retard!!! As if your goddamn hallucination counts... What, just because YOU say they're better than Schon they're better? hahaha!!! You're a real f'd up, long term patient at a local nursing home, aren't ya? Hell, gotta give it to ya, old bag. The effect of you believing yourself to be a true f'g genius when you're indeed a senile and retarded loser is truly hilarious!!! I literally laugh out real hard when I read your delirious posts. Keep entertaining me. I love it! LMFAO!!

  • @GOODY61 Hey, what the f*k is the matter? No more barking in four entries? Is your insect brain failing?:)

  • @GOODY61 That's not the dumbest thing I've ever read. But it was close.

  • check out Neal Schon solo on we are stars video

  • UNF"GBELIEVABLE!!! Is Neal Schon human in this one?! WOW!!!

  • A dream team for me. Schon and Rodgers......write and record a studio album before its too late.

  • Just purchased Paul Rodgers and Company from 1993 live in Miami, the Hendrix Set.

  • I saw this tour in Portland, OR...it was awesome. Thanks for posting this vid.

  • Does anyone know how and when these guys met and started jamming together?

  • Neal sounds like Jeff Beck in this vid

  • le duo parfait

  • I've been trying to figure out the song and who its by, can someone please tell me? Thank you

  • Neil is uder-rated because of most of the material that Journey chose to put out IMO

  • @stevenrthr100 Fantastic point, and true. There is a price to pay it seems when art bows to $

  • 3:43-3:55

  • Man, around 3:45 he doesn't even look at the guitar as he's melting the frets. SICK!

  • Neal with an "a" lol :D

  • Journey was great.

  • Neil Schon is one of the best rock guitarists who ever bent a string.

  • every 1 out ther this is the way its supposed to be done rock and roll

  • Neal isn't underatted everybody who knows a little bit of guitars know how good he is KEEP ON ROCKING NEAL!!!

  • You have to feel for Paul a little. Once Neal uncorks the genie is out, all Paul can do is wave a flag lol

  • @ricorreze No one overshadows Paul Rodgers in concert.

  • @GOODY61 I guess you just don't have any faculty to detect human emotions out of a person's facial expressions. Look at the expressions of Rodgers as Schon's guitar playing transcends him to a near Nirvana in this video. You think he was feeling the pain of being "overshadowed" here? In fact, he looks like he's having an orgasm here. LOL!!! I knew there were some true screwballs out there, but you definitely top them all. No f'g doubt about it.

  • @6PERRYFAN4 Your the person who seems to have a screw loose and completely misunderstood my point. . Rodgers does that every concert with every guitarist who has played with him. I will use a different choice of words in order that you might understand the point a little bit better. No one can upstage Rodgers talent during one of his concerts and that goes for any guitarist who has every played with him.

  • neal schon always the best!

  • In this video, Paul Rodgers looks older than he is in this moment. :P

  • I saw them in Dallas. It was so awesome. They 3 or 4 Hendrix tunes and Neal was melting those Marshalls. This is killer guitar playing...John Mayer go fuck yourself

  • fuck yeah, they're rocking out so hard

  • Superbe duo

c le meilleur à mon avis

Schon a le feeiling de Kossoff

  • Tu as raison Marina. Comme toi je suis fan de Journey et de Robin Trower.

  • is that deen castranovo playing?

  • I saw that tour in Columbus, Ohio. Fantastic!

  • Anybody know what guitar he's playing here?

  • I do believe it's a Tom Anderson's Guitarworks

  • God damn, Neal is so on in this vid. And what a monster tone.

  • How is neil schon underrated? he's a huge name in guitar.

  • Neal Schon is as blue as you can get. He is making love with the guitar!!!

  • neil schon has the technical ability to play like yngwie or paul gilbert or satriani but has better taste so he puts his focus on what sounds good not how fast he can play though he is just as fast as anybody. he kicks ass bottom line!

  • my thoughts exactly

  • Saw this tour, Schon is no blues rocker. Paul Rodgers Voice was absolutely bad ass..

  • WTF are you talking about? Neal is superb! Paul's voice as usual, is brilliant!

  • Comment removed

  • I'd rather be underated than overrated.

  • Neal Schon? under rated guitar player? lmao you gotta be joking or you've been living under a rock for the past 30 years.

  • Neal_uncorked. Doesn't get much sicker than this. You can tell Paul really gets off on that playing...

  • No kidding, he's got allot of stuff inside that needs to get out. He by far has some of the tastiest riffs around. Herbie Herbert once said that Santana closed the "guitar god" door behind him and Neal was locked out. What a shame because he can play circles around most guitarists with ease and is highly respected among his musical peers.

  • the discussion about greatest guitarist could go on forever. In my opionion EVH is very good but overrated. He does the same solo on every song. Neil Schon has a much more diverse soloing syle.

  • what article are u talking about? like to read it

  • great singer!

  • Neal's been rippin' it up since the 3rd Santana lp.He's covered the rock and roll gambit and has earned his spot in guitar-goddom,jus wish he'd put more effort toward a solo disc .

  • I have a live show from the board of this lineup and it is one of the top live shows I have. Schon tears it up.

  • Anyway of gettin' that video? Thanks in advance.

  • It's audio.

  • Is that a Suhr?

  • It's a Tom Anderson Classic.

  • Neal is truly one of the greats he has been around to watch all those so called great ones come and fade away.Neal your the reason I play thank you

  • To play with Paul Ridgers must have been awesome. There is no one like Neal Schon. A true inspiration to myself and so many others.

  • "Guitar Player" magazine did a really nice cover story on Neil last month. Finally he gets some well deserved recognition!

  • You must be 14. Schon was the darling of the guitar mag press in the early and mid 70s, he had *plenty* of recognition. But he also talked a bunch of shit about being the greatest hotshot guitarist ever. Then Van Halen showed up and scared the living crap out of him. The rest is history. Advise you to go re-read that article, especially the part about EVH kicking Schon's ass night after night after night (Schon's words, not mine.)

  • Dude I'm older than you! I have tons of old guitar magazines and very few cover Neil. You've got Eddie, Yngwie, the guys from Iron Maiden, Frank Zappa but There's hardly anything on Neil. I speculated coz he was in pop band not a cutting edge rock band. I was just stating it was nice to see an article on a guy whom I admire. For your information Eddie is my hero and will always be.

  • LOL Steve P pissed off alot of people because he acted untouchable. EVH was so amazing,he didn't have to kiss B**T. Look at the Rolling stones opinion about the top 100 Guitarist? It's sick, Kieth Richards is 10,Cobain is 12 and Eddie at 70?Neal,Satch,Adldrich,Beach,Morse,Petrucci & Johnson aren't not even on the list, why? It's a popularity contest & opinion! If you don't kiss A**, you wont get the press and Neal wont bend his knees! What counts to Neal, is people like EVH and Satchs Opinion!

  • LOL, EVH was stomping a mud hole in everyone when he came on the scene, he was the great inovator of new Guitar technics since Jimmy Hendrix. EVH is one of my top 3 Guitarist, along side of Satch and the amazing Neal Schon. I've been following great Guitarist since 1969 and the reason why Neal is at the top of my list, is simply his ability to evolve and recreate himself, as well as his versatility. Noone is as versatile as Neal. From Heavy metal, with Sammy, to Latin,Fusion,Blues &Journey !

  • Spartacust, get off your high horse and quit stalking the Schon vids. You've got an agenda, obviously. Dave Meniketti will kick Eddie's ass TO THIS DAY. Eddie's great, but not very diverse...Go fuck yourself.

  • Neal Schon is underrated because he is primarily known for playing with Journey. Does not make him a bad guy, he has the chops, no doubt. Played with Santana at 15.

  • so sick

  • With Deen Castronovo on Kit!!!

  • It don't get much better.

  • awsome!!!

  • neal schon is one of my guitar idols

  • neal, you're great!

  • Holy shit!! Two of the greatest in rock putting on an awesome show! Paul is so soulful, and Neil just flat out kills! Great stuff here-

  • WOW! What a performance! Two of the best EVER and they give it to you!

  • who said neil shon is underrated?he played with Santana at age 16!!

  • at first i thought that was jimmy page speaking hehe

  • one of the best voices next to one of the best guitars in the rock!!!!!! that madness!!!!!!!!

  • Neal is on FIRE! He is absolutley mezmorizing!

  • Yes hes on fire and mezmorizing, he is one of the GREATEST ever to jam rock-blues period ;)

    KILLER video, with great vocals!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I agree about him being underrated. He has never gotten the attention he deserved. He is truly one of the greats. I knew that back in the early 80s when I discovered who he was.

  • Damn great video but I wish the shorts were shorter
