I need some help. My slash 2wd was making a high pitched squeling noise randomly then the motor died :-( anyways. I replaced the motor and started running it and realized that when you give it a lot of throttle the motor "revs" high and the gears spin fast but none of that power goes to the wheels. Can anybody tell me what is causing this. P.s I drive mine like this and jump it quite a bit and never really cleaned it thoroughly. Thanks

i love my slash one of the best electric rcs i have owned i usually stick to gas then i saw the feed back that it was a dependable rc and that it was water proof made it even better so i grab one at 2 thumbs up for me maybe later ill throw in a brushless for now the stock motor is fine i love it

You dont clean a slash. You just spray it with a lot of water and let it dry!

I just gotta Traxxas Slash. I''ve had various electric and Nitro's since 1985 and this Slash truck is one of the most fun I've had. Debating whether or not to get the Velineon system or another like this Mamba I'm hearing about.? Even tho I've Rc'd off and on for ages I've never had any brushless yet but I'm kind of aiming for reliability over total full out power however both would be nice.

Nitro is faster completely stock with no changes at all.. however, once you pay extra for Electric, you can get Brushless and lipo and get faster speeds than nitro, but still depends on gearing. Nitro will cost ALOT more than electric because of all the extra electronics, and Nitro fuel and needs alot more maintainance.. Electrics seem expensive at first, but they are very inexpensive because batteries can last 1 year or longer, depending on how well you treat it.. electric kinda wins perform

The nitro one would be the slayer, as far as speed goes, the nitro slayer would be faster unless you fitted a decent brushless system into the slash, which is what i'd do.

depends on the mah you buy if your talking about run, and about 1 year+ for whole life..

usually with a good charger, 1hr, or less depends on mah. a 3600 mah 2s lipo for me takes 40min at charged at 3.6amps and the batterys voltage was 7.6, which is cut off..

go brushless because a brushed motor and a xl-5 speed controler with 6 cell last about 10 min with the vxl system with 6 cell it last 20-30 min and with 7 cell 30 min but with way more speed and wheeliage

its alot cheaper if you buy more batteries and buy the highest amount of volts that the ESC can take, which is 9.6v i believe...

No, the vxl is drawing ALOT more amps. Its drawing 2X as much power, those batteries would last 8 minutes, And a slash don't wheely on 6 or 7 cell.
