Dell Latitude D420 Review

My shop threw away 200 of these anf I took like litterally twenty

My company gave this to me in spring 2009 and it has worked perfectly since. I bought the slice battery for it and life is good. Prob going to get the Thinkpad X220 now though Thinkpad's are much better.

But I find your review to be pretty well put together though.

I have a Dell Latitude D630 which is also from around 2007 and I can honestly say that these laptops are indeed great.

I don't do a review because it's a new product. I do a review because I want to give my thoughts on it. Doesn't really matter if it's old.

@Dell0304 No I honestly think this laptop has been outdone many times since.

I can't see why you would buy this laptop when you've got IBM Thinkpad x41, x60, x61 and all the HP Elitebooks lying around at somewhat same pricelevel.

I bought my HP Elitebook 2710p, which is somewhat 10 times as awesome as any Latitude, at 200$.

The CPU in D420 is also too weak for watching 1080p youtube, which is a let-down as well.

On my local Craigslist, somebody is selling a Latitude D620, with 9-cell battery, for $250. I think they're absolutly nuts charging that much!! I mean, specs wise, it's just XP Pro, 1GB RAM, 60GB HD, NVidia graphics, nothing special.

I always loved the Dell Latitude line the take time and pride in these like the Dell Optiplex systems. The Inpirons always were on the cheaper side.

That thing looks just a tiny bit thinker than my laptop, it seriously does look very nice, but the 1.2 ULV does seem a little lacking. for 90, you'd be a complete idiot to buy a netbook, get something like this! :D

I have never heard of a ZIF hard drive, I've only heard of IDE and SATA. Do you have the memory maxxed out on this laptop?

@talldude123 Well, it's SATA, but with a ZIF interface connector.
