I believe something must have happened "behind the scenes" for Hanna and the production company to go seperate ways all of a sudden... the love story between Carla and Hanna was simply perfect, it didn't make sense to let it end - at least not that quickly. It's almost unbearable how much they're extending other story lines, why would they let go of such a good one???

As far as I know Katharina Dalichau (who played Hanna) left "Verbotene Liebe" because she had been offered the leading role in a promising theater project. Her contract would have ended that year anyway and apparently the producers let her out of it a little earlier as soon as ist was clear that she wouldn't sign for a new one and would rather do theater again instead, so she could accept said role.

But everything must have happened a bit unexpected for both parties because you're right, it didn't make sense to let the story end at that point and the story with Hanna dreaming about her own death didn't fit the direction the producers were heading into at all. And I think the producers would surely have continued the story if the actress had wanted to stay but with her contract running out and all there was probably not much to do but let her go and end the story all of a sudden.

It is sad though. The storyline was really popular and I would have loved to see more of Carla and Hanna. :-( The actresses had such great chemistry and the acting was some of the best I've seen on that show for many years.

In her interview with "Studio Eins" Katharina gives slight hints that she isn't all too happy about some story lines and endless repetitions (because the audience is too dumb to remember what it's all about - I was annoyed by that, too)... so maybe you could already tell then that she might not extend her contract...

thanks for your reply! I've been thinking the same (that Katharina's contract had ended, she had a two year contract only, and maybe when she fell off those stairs or had the transplantation she wasn't sure yet whether she would continue Verbotene Liebe until she got that theatre offer.

Your right, their story line and performance was undoubtedly one of the best ever in all the years, proving that learning at the highly acclaimed Max-Reinhard-Institut in Vienna (Katharina) is definately a good thing to do...

Does anyone know why the writers ended their story so quickly? They also could have let Hanna die when she fell down those stairs or had the transplantation... the story of her dreaming her own death came rather quickly and unexpected.

I agree! These 2 have chemistry oozing out of them. And Hanna's confusion and admissions are wonderful. And she acts with such convincing emotion!I hated their story line to end and so tragically! What acting!
