Leading up to the Civil War, the "property" was slaves. Now, the "property" is small businesses, private learning institutions, etc, that wish to deny service to blacks and presumably other minorities. Ron Paul's argument is that the states should be allowed to permit discrimination, that property rights trump civil rights.

I doubt it's particularly realistic to think that Ron Paul would win in places that are heavily Democratic like Washington and Oregon. California maybe, but even that would be a serious challenge. Likewise Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island…simply not realistic. He would still probably win though, but not by this kind of ridiculous landslide.

Leading up to the Civil War, the "property" was slaves. Now, the "property" is small businesses, private learning institutions, etc, that wish to deny service to blacks and presumably other minorities. Ron Paul's argument is that the states should be allowed to permit discrimination, that property rights trump civil rights.

I doubt it's particularly realistic to think that Ron Paul would win in places that are heavily Democratic like Washington and Oregon. California maybe, but even that would be a serious challenge. Likewise Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island…simply not realistic. He would still probably win though, but not by this kind of ridiculous landslide.
