He is obviously insecure and most certainly needs to grow up. All the players on this site deserve our respect no matter what. I speak as a musician, too afraid to audition myself haha. So, anyways, back to useful insights about JR's awesome audition ... I've never really been a fan of Brian May's guitar tone, and I usually think of it as being a custom "humbucking" sort of sound, but you managed to get it darn close with single coils on a strat. What were you running it through, if'n ya don't mind me asking?

@TheTimesmithCC, I used a software "Amp Modeling" Plugin called "Amp Farm" made by Line 6 in Pro Tools. It has a pretty convincing model of a Vox AC 30....which is what Brian May uses. To be honest, I wasn't completely satisfied with the guitar tone (or the guitar performance for that matter....I had a blister on my ring finger and it hurt like a hoochie mamma each time I bent the string up!) but, since it was a Bass audition, I figured it would be fine. I'd actually LOVE a re take. :)

What JR isn't telling you is that he DOES sing, and he sings great. He doesn't believe this, so he downplays it, but I know this is true because I've been working with him for the last 3 years, and he's the real deal. A bass playing-guitar shredding-drum smacking-keyboard pounding-SINGING force of nature. Watch his other videos and see for yourself.

If nothing else, it was a LOT of fun doing the audition! :) I did this at my private studio. It's called ELM Studio South. I LOVE Vancouver BC! I used to go there and mix stuff at "Hippo Sonic" and "The Green House" studios a few years ago! Best of luck to you, and maybe we'll get lucky and win this thing and get to jam some Queen tunes together!
