  • 1 person got lost from the Springfield Interchange

  • Hah Virginia drivers aren't exactly the best lol.

  • I love it... my kind of fun video!. Where was the camera mounted? I was thinking it would be fun to put one in the grill or close to bottom of grill opening.

    Thanks.

  • @CosmoSaid Thanks, camera is mounted on a tripod set on the front seat floorboard

  • Thanks bro..pretty lame but good effort..

  • @docongvinh77 Pretty lame? what is that supposed to mean?

  • wow!! i wish traffic was always this clear on 95. this was also my afternoon commute everyday from columbia md to stafford!!! ughh it was the worst!!

  • thats a cool hwy video--never been over there before but planning on driving that way next year.

  • Traffic always sucks whenever i am going back to Stafford from PA. no traffic on 95 till u get into Northern VA its horrible.

  • At 2:54 that has stayed the same for as long as I remember. I still wonder if they would extend the HOV lanes through Stafford.

I can't say never because the area is always changing...

  • God I miss NoVa. Great video.

  • Live on that road. Va rocks once uve drivin a year in New wngland.

  • we learn bck roads like nobody else tho. lol

  • I enjoyed that. Couple of questions: How do you mount your camera? What kind of editing software do you use, and how do you do the fast-motion?

    Thanks!

  • I remember when I use to live in Northern Virginia we would take I-95 to go to kings dominion back in the 80's and 90's.

  • sweet video !.. what's the music ?

  • Thanks, the music is "Get Out Of The City" by Ivy

  • Trust me. There is nothing sad about it. You ain't the only one who drives for fun. That's why I'm trying to be an OTR truck driver. Getting paid to do what you love.

  • Haha look at that flag on the right at 0:35-36, you're clearly passing a car dealer!

  • Another great vid jim. Traffic usually isnt this clear. Are u plannin any greater Ny,Ny vids

  • ur goign to have a crash if u driving liek that ur over the white line when u were goig like 80

  • awesome vid. this is my afternoon commute. springfield to Dumfries. I just wish traffic was always that clear. and that everyone drove that fast! where's the FF button on 95?

  • Great video! all your videos are great! will you be doing and other videos in virginia?

    =)

  • Thank You!

Yes I may possibly do some more videos in VA, it depends where I go this summer.

  • ok great = ) because i used to live in springfield VA but i moved so it would be great to see some familiar roads!!

  • This is in the Morning when HOV is going coming towards D.C, that is why traffic is moving south because in the evening its always SLOW!!

  • I lived in Woodbridge (off the US-1 exit) as a kid, and it seems like that section of 95 was under construction constantly from 1981 to present.

  • @sm1else hov lanes, lanes widings, springfield interchange, interchange thats to the springfield mall

  • Mean't to say I wouldnt want to deal with the traffic up there everyday in my first post.

  • Nice video! I used to make the drive from Greenville, SC to Delaware about twice a year using this particular stretch of I-95, always planned my trips to coincide with the HOV lanes being open to all traffic. I havn't been in that part of the world since 2005 unfortunattly. I miss getting up there but wouldnt want to deal with the traffic up there. Wouldn't mind seeing how the Springfield interchange at the Beltway turned out plus the Wilson bridge.

  • u did a great job with this video! the song u picked goes great with the video too! what time of day was this? i was amazed there was hardly any traffic

  • Thank you, It was late morning (11AM or so) on a Monday, yeah traffic is usually heavy through there.

  • thank you for posting this! it makes me smile when i watch it and great song choice!

  • Thanks! It's one of my personal favorites.

  • You always choose the best music.

What started as a small tradition as a child has grown into an almost yearly drive on this road, sometimes more than once a year from the Philly area to New Smyrna Beach Fl.

I love this road, when it moves. I can almost melt into it, lol.

  • wow freeways in that area are narrow

  • duuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuude!!!!! this where I live hahahahaha stafford FTW!!! lmao

  • cool

  • nice..

  • Even though i drive up and down from Quantico to as far as Alexandria on I-95, this still made me smile. Hate the traffic, but the drives are nice.

But oh man, do i hate that traffic. That can't be emphasized enough.

  • Thanks for the ride. Its been a while since I've been through there.

  • Sweet. I haven't been through the area too much since they rebuilt the Springfield 95/395/495 interchange. I checked it out late at night and the thing is a monster. I dunno how it is traffic-wise during daytime hours though. N. Virginia always a traffic headache...

  • and it still is....

  • Hello, it is my understanding that hybrids can go in the HOV lanes with only 1 person in the car. Virginia hybrid owners can get a special license plate that allows them to be in the HOV lanes with only 1 person.

  • yep i live in northen VA to traffic is hell on 66

  • We go on I-95 in Bronx, NY every week on the way to church and traffic can be bad. I just uploaded a video of how traffic can be bad on I-95 in Bronx.

  • I live in Lorton off exit 160 (123 - Gordon Blvd) about 3 miles up in the subdivision behind the Giant Shopping Center (with the new Five Guys), and used to live off exit 133 in Fredericksburg, near Geico. It was kinda fun to watch this video. May use my dig camcorder to do something similar.

  • oh and they are expanding the HOV Lanes all the way to Massaponax (in Spotsylvania County - Also now considered part of Northern Virginia). Not sure when it'll be complete.

  • Yeah, Northern Virginia has horrible traffic, that was a good day to be on the road.

You should make one of all the way to Fredericksburg. =P There is SO MUCH shopping and people here O.O, it's considered part of Northern Virginia now (since Summer 2007) because of how many people commute to D.C. from here.

  • I hate living here.... which is why I'm moving! :D

  • Yea, kind of get tired of Northern Virginia after a while.......

  • Yea, fredericksburg is still considered a commute into D.C, but beyond Fredericksburg. Its commuter to Richmond.

  • Hey, look it's where I live. lol That's the littlest traffic I have ever seen.

  • Thanks for the ride! Say, what's 'HOV'?

  • HOV Lane = High Occupancy Vehicle Lane, In VA you must have 3 or more people in your car to use the HOV lanes, it varies in different cities around the country.

  • With the HOV lanes, are Hybrids exempt from the 3 person rule?

  • No, There are no special rules regarding Hybrids and HOV lanes as of yet.

  • Yes, hybrids can drive in the HOV lanes, regardless of the number of passengers.

  • its 2 my friend

  • FWJ,

Love your videos. I live in NOVA and I'm amazed that you got this one so easily. Must have been 5AM on a Sunday to catch so little traffic ;)

    Please keep 'em coming!

    Frank

  • Whats is the name of that song and the aritist?

  • "Get Out Of The City" By Ivy

  • I've heard that is an amazing stretch with a massive amount of traffic. I flew out of Norfolk one to Dulles on a connector back to Detroit...we followed I-64 to Richmond and up I-95. I was able to see Richmond and I-95 and it was amazing how stopped and congested that stretch was.

You have great videos. Here I thought I was the only one interested in highway construction.

Our BIG deal here is making I-75 8 lanes from Flint to Bay City. About 50 miles of widening from 6 to 8 lanes.

  • Yes it can be a pretty rough ride, check my northbound video of this road. In Atlanta there is talk of expanding I-75 from 12 to 23 lanes from I-575 to I-285 north of the city with Toll lanes & truck lanes. You are not alone sir, there are many others like us.

  • So it's about 5 lanes each way with the HOV lanes for 20+ miles south of I-495? 3 lanes each way to Richmond/Portsmouth I would imagine.

  • Actually it's 4 or more Lanes Each way + 2 HOV lanes south to Exit 166 then 3 lanes each way + HOV (3-2-3) to Mile 151 then it's 3 lanes each way to Richmond.
