I dont know if its totally truth but one of my teacher said that in every 3 months all our cells being changed with new ones (i guess neurons are exceptions) so if we see it like that we stay forever young, at least till we live :)

@pearljam3077 Are you sure you want to be forever young? It might sound good now but unless you pass away in accident or disease then most people are satisfied with their lives when they die. Also, just living forever won't mean that you'll be happy forever.

I once heard a saying I found very good. "Eternity is like the flow of a great river. If you don't have something to hold onto, it'll pull you under with all it's sorrow."

No matter how much you want to live, you won't want to forever.

@pancsiiii Indeed, however in that case you won't live Forever. A longer life or a longer youth is something I want to have too. It is true that everyone are sure to leave as many dreams unfulfilled as they have fulfilled. Getting the power to fulfill those dreams would be nice. But when you live longer you will find new dreams so in the end you will have to die with dreams unfulfilled in any case.

It is a very good thought you have though.

@pancsiiii Well if you are talking about true eternity then I guess that might apply however there is simply so many things that can be done in the world so you'll most likely not run out of dreams for tens of thousands of years AT LEAST.

And if you were to have no dreams left then you would probably be content with your life and find a way to end it by yourself.

The idea of being young all your life is very good thou. As it is now we only have our prime for less than 10 years. Very short.

@pancsiiii That depends on how you define Youth. What I said only refered to our physical prime which isn't much longer than 10 year or even shorter than that.

However we are still considered "young" by most people from the time we are born until we are like 40. If you are 21 then you probably will not be hindered in doing anything until you get somewhere between 40-50 since your body will still be rather strong but you'll notice a decrease in fitness once you passed your prime.

Fortunately i will be a pharmacyst so its not impossible that i invent a medicine which keeps the cells young in all their life so maybe i will solve the problem and we can stay young in all our life:)

@pancsiiii I'm not extremely educated in biology but wouldn't such a medicine just lengthen your life without affecting the percentage you spend as young/old?

Like if it make you stay young for twice as long wouldn't that mean that you spend twice as long as old afterwards?

Or maybe when you're creating will keep the cells young for as long as they can and when they can't stay young anymore you'll age very fast and die? Like ageing 30-40 years in 2 years or something like that?

@VomicaEmanio Well, the problem is that there are many theories for why and how a cell becomes older and finally dies, so i guess first we should find out how is this process exactly then if we know that we can start thinking of this 'stay young' project, which isnt seem to be easy either :S

Well, in terms of how the cells age and so it's something thatcan be solved through studies. Stopping that process thou is going to be 1000 times harder. Cells are MEANT to die because if we don't die then we won't leave room for the next generation to live.

I agree. great song. Their meal ticket, unfortunately. I wish they'd had more success overall - one of the most talented bands ever.
