lol, when cage nuts dont spin, more like when dont they. Ive heard some techs use a pipe threader on them because of its slow tourqe aplied. Personaly i just use a 1/2 in impact and a small matco butane torch from above to heat up the locktight. is is rediculous using sheetmetal to hold a nut with that much locktight being pulled through. agian impresive videos, have you thought about teaching at uti closer to retirement?
I usually have at least one that always wants to spin. I broke by butane tip so I just use what heat I can get. I now have a propane tip that fits great. I bent and shaved on wrench for the front nuts, but the trick on the front is to put a jack under the front support when removing, works great. I have thought about teaching and have been offered once for UTI and another time for OSU Okmulgee. I make more money turning wrenches.
When removing the cab, if I have no problems like spun cage nuts it takes me about 2 hours to dissasmble and raise the cab. It then take me about 3 hours from dropping the cab to start up. Thanks for leaving comments!
Honestly, Over the years I have only replaced one hydro-boost for a leak between the case. I bet that the leak is from the power steering lines for the hydroboost just to the right of the master cylinder just below the cowling. There are nylon orings that seal the fitting. I can not tell you how many times I have seen techs reuse them and then be a small leak. With them being at the top, it will leak onto the wiring and then the lines below. other than that, no i dont see that problem.
How many hydroboost units do you replace on these trucks? I've already had mine replaced once, and it is leaking again. In fact, it started leaking again less than a month after it was replaced. I have seen a few other 08 Super Duty's leak from it too. I haven't taken it back in, and it is leaking all over the electrical wires, and connections. It's a slow leak though. Mine is an 08
Thanks! The video is actually from 3 different trucks. The blue one has the cab removed for the RH turbo inlet pipe. The close up shots showing white vehicles were from an engine failure.

Curious on how long it takes you on flatrate to have it in the air. thank you for your video

@runelost88
Under warranty flat rate, time to remove and install the cab is 6 hours. walk in flat rate to remove and install the cab should be around 8 hours.

mwd92 1 year ago
@mwd92
If you have some skills already, you could start from around 12 to 14 per flag hour. In Oklahoma, top pay is only around 27 per flag hour.
