@minvydaaas454 SM kind of hogs the spotlight in WH40K. Chaos at least has something new each time it sprouts up in media; some new daemon or master plot or awesome mutation. Space Marines just change colour scheme, lol. But if I had to pick an army other than IG, it would be Tau.
my description about SM: noobs faction! uses their combat( not skills). you just need to pick up your targets and take right weapons. they are toughest race of the game and thay have best atack options f that game. actualy this is why i dont like SM -.-

And besides, the heretics in the WH40K universe almost always deserve execution. As for the Imperial Guard, there are good commanders and bad commanders. Some send them out on suicide charges, others think up unbeatable strategies. Essentially, the Imperium is all human history spread across th galaxy, past present and future.

@Nitocolus While The Imperium has this Gothic Epicness of Awesome going for it, it is undoubtedly one of the most unpleasant place to actually live in. Living in this setting if you have other alternatives that insures the survival and (relatively) prosperity of the Human Race would be masochism
The Imperium of Man society plans should be in a glass case saying 'In case of hostile and/or traitorous Aliens and eldritch-infused Traitors attacking simultaneously for few tens millennia' break glass.

@Nitocolus I'd rather join the real life Adeptus Mechanicus, or move to the Morning Star Confederation (from Eclipse Phase) and live within their aerostat cities--along with flying around in Venues upper atmosphere in a sealed ram/pulse jet based power sailplane (my love of flight, technological immortality, and better augmentations than Admech>Warhammer 40K).

@minvydaaas454 SM kind of hogs the spotlight in WH40K. Chaos at least has something new each time it sprouts up in media; some new daemon or master plot or awesome mutation. Space Marines just change colour scheme, lol. But if I had to pick an army other than IG, it would be Tau.

@minvydaaas454 I use the Guard because they have more options. Not just in appearance, like making a Cultist army with IG rules; I mean appearance, too. Lots of options; very fun. SM are kind of overused. Nothing against SM of course; they are a good army. Maybe just too good...

@Martinenkovy The Imperium seems mostly based on WWII Soviet Union, but I won't discuss all the allegories on YouTube... too many potential arguments. And besides, the heretics in the WH40K universe almost always deserve execution. As for the Imperial Guard, there are good commanders and bad commanders. Some send them out on suicide charges, others think up unbeatable strategies. Essentially, the Imperium is all human history spread across th galaxy, past present and future.

I like the Imperium, but for the kind of "place" it is,surrended by horrible enemies,and where humanity must make war or face extermination. In that place, the Imperium is the "best" state you can have, or at least, the better one. That, or being slaves and flesh for the sacrifices of Kaos. I mostly prefer to pry for that death corpse. And sure, that would be great in a MadMax world
