  • sorry man but a 2:26 those cars are not transformers they are garbage cars going to florida from albany.sorry but nice video

  • @train451 Look again - the car right behind the loco is a depressed-center flatcar with a transformer. I should know - I was there as it whizzed past. The trailing cars are indeed trash containers.

  • @Superedit i sorry i did not see that pretty cool and i just saw some csx workers putting a turobine on depressed flat down by bulline power plant and sending it to a nuclear plant in virmont.you know your stuff man sorry about that before

  • 1:10 don't see those anymore =(

  • the large tanks on the csx stand out. did they buy that unit?

  • how long were you there. i be at 2 newburgh for hours and only catch one train

  • Early in the day is best - I was there from 6:30am until about 10. Things dried up after that.

  • Gidday from downunder Australia

Crikey that's a bloody awesome video mate, thanks for sharing.

  • You're welcome! Hope to have more to share soon.

  • where is this located?

  • Highland, NY, across the river from Poughkeepsie. The old NH railroad bridge is being turned into a walkway - which oughta offer some outstanding photo ops.

  • That will be great. Still amazes me that neither PC nor Conrail ever found a use for the old NHRR Maybrook Line and this beautiful bridge. Wonderful video. I love the River Line for its scenic beauty. Interesting that all lashups in the video were just 2 units. The new GEs can obviously handle doublestacks and autoracks on this flat route.

  • One of the best train videos!! THANKS!

  • Thanks!

  • Beautiful, brings back lots of great memories.

  • great video!

  • sweety!

  • Awesome quality vid!! I think alot of these trains end up on the A-line that runs through north carolina I alwasy see lots of garbage trains and TOFC but never Auto Racks or double stack cuz the old ACL signal bridges wont clear them.

  • nice

  • Man, this is just such a great video, period. end of story. Can't wait to get out to Highland Landing this Sunday, and this video just makes the wait hurt so much more!

  • that is next to my grandmothers house. it's below the hudson river

  • Nicely edited video. Cheers

  • Nicely edited video. Cheers

  • Gotta love the Hudson..

  • Awesome river and fall color context!

  • LOVE THE RIVER LINE!

  • really like the lead es44.great locomotive.

  • I went to Hannibal, MO for vacation and the route there looked identical to this one!!!

  • Kingston is a great spot on the line. (CP-87-CP-91)

  • How many trains go through there in an hour?

  • Heaviest traffic (in my experience) is during the morning and evening hours; midday can be a total bust. Most of what you see here was shot between 6am and 11 am.

  • i liked the BNSF maxi stacks

  • It sure would have been nice to see trains run on the Poughkeepsie RR bridge

  • Thats the old New Haven, used for transporting troops.

  • EXCELLENT video! Very impressive!

  • it is suprising how much lease equipment you see on CSX now a days, i barely saw any on Conrail

  • Good stuff!! thanks!!

  • nice video

  • wow! Nice vid. By the way, can u tell me where did u film this vid? It's so awesome! I love it/

  • This was filmed on the Hudson Waterfront at Bear Mountain State Park.

  • Sorry - nowhere near Bear Mountain. It's actually at Highland, practically under the NH railroad bridge.

  • Very good video!

  • Probaly q156 sb, then definately q271 nb, then probably q409 sb,q164 sb, then q157 nb ( I work the river line)

  • Cool -- thanks!

  • Very nice video! I've been there near Tarrytown.

I love US trains, greatings from Belgium...

  • Alright, thankyou for the information, I'll keep that in mind.

  • Very nice video! I love to railfan in that exact spot when I go to NY! :D

  • I'm told that the police have become quite vigilant in this area -- if you go, stay ON public property, OFF the tracks. (I crossed the tracks to the river shore to get some of these shots; I might not do that these days.) I also wear a bright yellow ski jacket -- highly visible and not exactly terrorist-wear.

  • Yes to both!

  • Is that the Poughkeepsie RR Bridge in the distance? If it is than the highway bridge is the Mid-Hudson?

  • very nice :D

    i hate CSX >.>

  • I hear ya...I still miss Conrail.
