@w41duvernay I am an Emissions Inspector for the state of Nevada... you need a Motorswap form, and as long as the motor was a 81-95 model year engine...it's legal.
Bad idea to put the battery in the trunk. I put mine under the spare tire up front. Better for weight distribution. Car tends to stop quicker with the battery up front.
