What happens if you die in this game. Do you have to run 10 km again just to reach the same old position?

@moviemaker1004 Depends on the game mode. In some you can spawn on ur teammates others you'll have to do it at base and either drive or take a helo. The whole point of the game is not to die let the enemy do the the dying. Sometimes running 10 km again just to reach the same old position teaches u to be more careful on the battlefield lol. When it comes to shooters ARMA is in a class of its own.

you should try out the WarFX Particles mod. It enhances the worlds particles like adding more dust when you shoot the ground, more bark from a tree or wood planks, concrete and rock chunks, smoke trails from fired missiles, and much more dust, ejecta, and smoke from dropped bombs. It makes Arma 2 complete IMO

I got the G73 A1 for under $1500 and it runs this smooth as butter I can only imagine what It could do if I upgraded it worth $2500. Looking at your specs the only thing you have on me is your processor which is a $500 upgrade (mine came with 8GB RAM). Where do you shop for your parts? $2900 seems a little pricey for your specs on a desktop.

@Nebraska2155 Yes Xbox controller works well on PCs. Too bad you cant configure it yet. I cant get it to invert RS (looking up and down) I use the controller (LS) for movement and mouse for aiming, looking around and shooting. But yeah just plug it in to USB and play.

I admit this game really loves a high end PC to enjoy fully, and some of that comes down to your hard drives speed as well, I'm running a RAID setup to help.

@Vulkaye I think this lighting issue is a matter of taste. I have noticed that often games that i think look dead right to me in terms of lighting don't look right to others. To me, crysis does not have realistic lighting, while this (arma 2) seems absolutely dead on. I Have just watched some videos of OFP 2 and the realism in arma 2 is far superior (to my eyes)
